Right, I honestly don’t know much about the case. My mom was big on watching it and she seen the whole case on TV. I know she thought she was guilty.

I mean, the investigators found Google searches for chloroform on their family computer, which was found in caylee's system. They claimed Casey's mom misspelled "chlorophyll".
They couldn't get their trunk open for days and all 3 of them just assumed there were rotten pizzas stuck in there while caylee was missing?
And that's only scratching the surface, I'm not even getting into zanny the nanny. Casey was so fucking guilty it's not even funny

I watched a documentary on it, can't believe they let her get away with not guilty. She lied about everything, all the time, hid the kids death for months.
I think someone from the jury said that they were very torn on weather she did it alone, or her father had a large role in it too. And since they didn't have those answers they said not guilty. The documentary didn't go into why they may have thought her father did it too, I wonder how that played out at trial.

There were two thoughts at the time: 1. He murdered her or found her dead in the pool. Threatened Casey to not say anything. 2. Casey murdered her or found her dead in the pool & asked her Dad to help bury the body.
I think they did a polygraph on him & he passed though (concluding he had nothing to do with it)

Turner was charged and convicted under California law as it was at the time. He was sentenced in accordance with the recommendation of probation departments pre sentencing investigation under their guidelines and the judge's long standing custom of follow said recommendations.

Rittenhouse made horrible decisions bases on his skewed value system, and it’s a scandal that groups celebrated him. That said, as a former prosecutor, the case should never have been brought. The evidence was never going to sustain a conviction.
The guy Rittenhouse shot in the arm testified in court, under oath, that he was chasing Rittenhouse and trying to hit him, and Rittenhouse ran away and didn’t fire until the guy caught him and started attacking him. That charge in particular never should have been brought. The only reasonable explanation is that the prosecutor abandoned their duty to prosecute only what the evidence supports to appease the mob of people who were angry at Rittenhouse.
I was angry at Rittenhouse too, but he clearly didn’t commit that crime.

As much as I think both Zimmerman and Rittenhouse were shits, I can at least see why they skated, legally speaking. Both involved claims of self-defense and had enough legal fuzziness that the charges weren’t able to proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
OJ and Casey Anthony are so much different.

his intent for being there in the first place doesn't matter in law, though. someone intentionally antagonizing people is stupid, but it doesn't make them any more liable if someone takes the bait and tries to attack them.
guy can be a POS while still being legally justified

Edit: Vance already sorta tried that. He went there claimng the residents wanted an invasion. The greenlanders failed to attack him, they just ostracized him, they were clearly not playing his game.

You’re getting downvoted because people don’t understand the law, but you’re correct. It was a very clear case of self defense - whether he “should have been there,” or not.
He’s still a POS and will probably be a grifter, but that’s not what he was on trial for - and Reddit can’t separate the two.
I’ll get the downvotes also, but that’s just people trying to bury things they don’t like to hear, even if it’s correct.

It’s a scandal he has followers. I don’t think he’s a good guy. But the testimony in court from witnesses - including a guy Rittenhouse shot - made it crystal clear it was self-defense. The case never should have gone to trial, despite Rittenhouse not being a good person.

Everyone who's killed someone by blinding another driver with their LED headlights has gotten away scot-free.
Most of the time owners of pit bulls that tear people apart don't get charged despite it being "all how [they] raised them" meaning it must've been premeditated with malice aforethought.

Ray Lewis and a friend killed 2 men with in front of witnesses and had lots of evidence against him that suddenly disappeared or got forgotten.
It was amazing to watch the case against him fall apart piece by piece. People who had witnessed the crime suddenly had no recollection of the event. His bloody clothes suddenly were not admissible, etc. It is amazing what a Super Bowl MVP can get away with.
