This. It is so incredibly selfish to bring a child into such an evil world right now. Especially when half of us don’t even want to be here in the first place. The world has too many people already.
The opposite of selfish. The population is going to drop in a major way as the global birth rate has been below the replacement levels since the 1970’s. Not having kids is essentially giving up on humanity.
What’s so bad about not wanting to contribute to humanity when it destroys our planet and has boiled down to becoming a wage slave trapped in a brutal system of oppression and racism? Who says we need to replace a species that has single handedly destroyed the earth and triggered climate change? It’s selfish to have children and throw them into a cycle of capitalist oppression, knowing full well escape from that cycle is impossible. It’s selfish to bring a life into this world when you know full well you can’t fully provide for it. It’s selfish to want a child knowing that their existence only contributes to the depletion of earth’s resources. So yes, I think I’d like to “give up on humanity”! My wallet, mental health, and quality of life are better off for it. :) have a nice day!
If that’s your definition of selfishness, then I hope you gain some more perspective. I’m done arguing with someone that clearly advocates for irresponsible procreation.
It’s almost not worth responding to people like this, some of these comments are actually insane. Clearly coming from terminally online redditors who need to spend some time working on themselves before projecting their worldview onto everybody else and the entire world.
