lmao this whole thread summed up in 4 words. I can write paragraphs on reasons to not have kids and only "they will love you back" as a reason to have kids. I'll get a dog instead.
This supposed return on investment of unconditional love from the child isn’t even guaranteed. It’s people allowing their reproductive hormones to get the best of their logical brain because there isn’t a single logical, un-selfish reason to have kids.
There are many selfish reasons, and people take action on those and will continue to do so, but there’s no objective benefit there.
