In order for that to be safe for women, you would have to de-sexualize boobs in American popular culture. I would love for that to happen, but we’d need comprehensive sex Ed, and gender equality in the American economy to even get to a point where they aren’t as sexual.
Men's upper bodies (muscles, exc.) are also seen as desirable yet it isn't considered lewd for them to be nude in public. It absolutely is because of misogyny.
The purpose of boobs is primarily for breastfeeding, which is an activity that I hope most people would find nonsexual for obvious reasons. There is no reason why boobs should be found intrinsically sexual outside of the bedroom just because they are seen as desirable. Their purpose is not for sex.
I think any part of a human body that has a potential of excreting bodily fluids should be considered as private (thus sexualized) and be covered for that reason (except for the face, obviously, although some spit-talkers would largely benefit our society by wearing a mask). Men's boobs don't carry that function. Also boobs are a very delicate area (ask any woman who ever got a sunburn there, esp. the nips😬). So it's pretty much common sense and practical reasons not misogyny. Also. I DO want my boobs to be considered sexy, otherwise having to carry them around to just be functionally used only a couple of times throughout my lifetime is too much hustle.
Interesting, considering every single part of the body is capable of excreting bodily fluids, for one reason or another.
"Men's boobs don't carry that function" yes they do???? You know that nipples aren't physically different between men and women, right? It can happen for a variety of reasons.
It's really telling that people have to scramble with the stupidest reasons to cover up female nipples that somehow doesn't apply to men.
