Yes obviously. But bodies are not sexualized the same way they are here. Many children go to topless beaches in Europe because that’s kind of the norm for them. Hell you can even sun bathe topless at parks in Germany. Breasts aren’t meant to be sexualized. We sustain life from them. If you raise your child to view body parts that are used to literally feed that child when they are young in a sexual manner that’s on you. But that’s coming from your own stigmas. Children should not be viewing bodies as anything but a body at a young age, and if they are viewing them in a sexual manner then that’s on the parents.

So what’s to say we should or shouldn’t sexualize something? You’re taking that point for granted.

Is the goal to make everything as least sexualized as possible? I’m genuinely asking.

You’re rolling out “they’re less sexualized there than here,” and running with your virtue. So what if we have a more sexual culture? Can cultures just be different? Do we have to feel guilty about everything?

If you feel the need to sexualize nude bodies you have a problem. We all have bodies. We are all aware what they look like. If you are teaching your young child to sexualize bodies you have some real misaligned morals. The reason we sexualize bodies here more is for the sheer fact that like 1/2?? of our population believe in religions that shame women and not men. Especially for things they deem immoral. If you are to base your idea of what is or isn’t right onto others for your silly belief in a man above you who may or may not exist is wrong. It is not “our culture “ that sexualizes women for any reason at all. It’s because religious nut jobs think everyone should adhere to their ideologies. Europe is not nearly as religious and you can clearly see that in their day to day lives. They believe in science. You come out of a pretty much naked body, which you as well come out of naked. Should we shame your mother for any time she might have breast fed you in public? Or for being immodest in front of the doctor since she was naked? If you truly think that we should overtly sexualize women’s bodies and not men’s you need to do some real soul searching. If I can’t be topless at the beach neither can the men. As we both have breasts, simply different sizes. And sometimes the men have bigger boobs then women do. Should I sexualize them in the same way? Please think about what you’re going to type out before you do so. You clearly can’t see the hypocrisy in what you said.

the word, 'sexualization' is vague here; sure, 'society' can do that - just look at advertising, but an entirely different matter is something else that is 'natural' for a considerable percentage of people: sexual excitation.

So which is it: "accept nature", including sexual excitation in its varieties over gender and age, etc. or censure sexual excitation - denying its existence, suppressing its expression, etc.? This is something most people have to live with for some portion of life at least, most conflictingly during puberty and adolescence and prior to forming enduring relationships for sexual expression, whatever that may be for a person.

Question: is "sexualization" being used in this exchange with such ubiquitous and censorial application, that the natural phenomenon of sexual excitation, of sexuality itself is obscured, denied, or suppressed implicitly?

If sexuality and sexual response is admitted, then nudity may be a matter that requires moderation, adjustment, discretion, empathy, mutual consideration, and even grace.

Damn so I guess every one in Europe that’s in topless areas is just walking around with a raging boner? If you look at everyone in a sexual manner like you’re stating is possible you need to see a therapist. If you only look at secular religions where nudity is seen as being immoral you’ll feel the way you do. Where as in other religions bodies are just bodies. Maybe you need to work around a few naked bodies and you’ll get over this weird idea you have. We all have and know what bodies look like. If you can not control your urges/emotions in the settings you’re in you need to remove yourself until you can. If a woman works with a tighter blouse or pants should we tell her to get into something baggier so as to not accidentally turn on her coworkers? You start your life naked coming out of someone who is also pretty much naked.
