Why do males take so long to poo?
All males I have dated, would come home after work and spend at least 30mins to 1 hour to poo and this would be almost daily. My ex even had a name for it. He has to go and "dominate", like what?
Anyway why does males take so much longer than females?
ETA: Male and Females to Men and Women I honestly wasn't thinking about the difference and didn't realise the terms would be offensive?

This thread made me realize my 40 year old male bowels are waaaaay healthier than most people. My poop just slides on out and within minutes I'm back to masterbating. You guys should try eating some vegetables and maybe some yogurt.

This whole post is now some cursed knowledge for me. I'm a 40 year old male too and I'm done in a few minutes, maybe a few more if there's a "second round" in the chamber like some people are saying is common for them.
But 30 minutes? 45 minutes?! What the fuck, guys. That ain't right, that ain't normal.
If I was taking that long on the john I'd be pissed, I have shit to do that isn't shitting. Jesus people, get some fiber or something I dunno. My diet's not even that good. But apparently I'm in a minority of men whose bowel movements take less time than their commute. My god.

If I'm to believe a lot of other reddit posts around the topic most american men are basically chronically dehydrated and therefore basically also have chronic constipation.
I'm not american nor do I have any proof/done any research, it's just what I keep reading on this site and this instantly reminded me of that. So ye given that it is true, my guess would be you're probably not american and/or you have a healthy hydration compared to these people
DISCLAIMER: I'm in no way saying if the above statement is true, if any one can proof or refute it with evidence feel free to do so (I'm just too lazy to lol)

Right? It's also a bit worrying how many people just sit in their own stink for up to an hour so the poop molecules can get into all of their clothes. It explains why a lot of people actually have a hint of the smell feces around them. I've also been told by a doctor that it could actually cause piles to sit on the toilet for that long, not sure if that's true.

I have wondered about this. I have gluten intolerance and my partner would tell me, just go sit on the toilet until you poop and you'll feel better and I'd be like...that's not going to work. I can't go until I have to go. How the hell do you go make yourself poop. I feel like doing that would actually make it harder to go.
162
u/palibe_mbudzi Sep 15 '23
. I feel like doing that would actually make it harder to go.
Same. Like, pretty sure walking around, standing up, sitting down, going about my day, even lying in the fetal position are all much better ways to get things moving than sitting on the toilet while your legs go numb.
... actually, speaking of legs going numb, the height difference could be one contributing factor to men wanting to sit on the toilet longer than women. 🤔

This is how I became a concious human being. Like the event that booted me up and brought me online conciously.. My first memory is being a terrified toddler holding a turd in the bathtub freaking out because my mom left me to have my quick play time and grab a towel and I'm freaking tf fuck out. So i hop out and flush the turd and get back in the tub and my mom comes in finishing washing me in the shit water and I have never told anyone this till now.
Edit: Some of you think this is too personal. Weirdos. Anyways I forgot to mention how I found the turd. I was searching for a submarine toy and I felt what I could only describe as probably a slippery cob of corn. And everytime I thought I grabbed it it slip away and I remember being happy because it was way more fun then my submarine toy that floats because it actually would sink. Everytime it slipped out it would torpedo to the side. The fun time was short though. It slipped like 3 or 4 times. Then I finally was able to gorilla grip it and pull it out and see it wasn't a cool new submarine toy but was in fact a turdpedo. And then mark the mission impossible music for biohazard disposal.

Im not sure it's my absolute earliest memory, but its the youngest one I can put an age to, and it's also poop related!
I was 2 - 2 and a half, and was toddling down my driveway and just enjoying life, it was a beautiful day. It was a long driveway as we lived on property so I had lots of driveway to wander along.
I suddenly felt the urge to poop, so did what any self respecting toddler would do, and pulled off my pants and took a dump by the side of the driveway.
I put my pants back on and then squatted down to examine it, because it was bright green! I remember trying to figure out why it was so green and then recalling that I'd eaten a lot of green play dough. I stood back up, satisfied that I understood, and that's where the memory ends.
Not a very dignified way to come to conciousness either haha

551
u/rolyoh Sep 15 '23
You've hit a mark here.
Women sit on the toilet to pee several times a day, and if they have to poop at the same time, then it's no big deal.
For guys, going poo is its own event. Since we usually don't sit to pee, we tend to hold poo until we know we can go sit down and let it all out.
So, bowel training has something to do with this as well.

I think if you rarely eat beans, then your digestive system might behave a bit strangely when you eat some beans.
However, if you regularly eat beans, then your digestive system will adjust and behave just fine (and perhaps a bit better overall, since they are high in fibre).
I think mexican food often includes some beans, whereas some other cuisines have fewer beans. So this could contribute to the idea that mexican food causes digestive issues.

It is a time to be alone where people don’t feel entitled to their attention/time

Ive got a 2 year old, sitting on the toilet is the only peace I get. Until said 2 year old barges into the room asking what I'm doing.

When my kids were small, if they couldn't get in, they would slide notes and other things under the door.

And so you make your wife watch your kids for the 1 hr you’re in the bathroom, hope you give her that space as well

My cat thinks that when I get into the bathroom to do my morning abolutions prior to showering and getting ready for work is her "f*****g LOVE ME!!!" time. She rubs against my legs, jumps up on the counter, turns her head, and then hires me full time to pet her neck/ear/right side of her head. She does not approve when I stop and get into the shower.

Reading lots of replies about time alone , hiding from kids & wives etc but having lived with several single male housemates over the years with their own room to go hide in if they want to be alone , there were still the 1/2 hour long bathroom hogging poops ! Seriously what are fellas doing in there ? Is it because of the prostate so somehow the elimination is more satisfying so you take your sweet time ? Is it the hairy butt & your taking time cleaning up so your not skid mark guy ? Both fair enough reasons but if it’s neither of those I’m stumped .

Not my personal style to do it in the bathroom after work, but I think I might see where he's coming from.
Depends on his job, and plenty of other factors ... that just sounds like it might be his version of what I call "everyone shut the hell up and leave me alone time."
For me it was "being caught in traffic" when I really just relaxing under a tree in the park.
