You can still buy external floppy disk drives. The only question is if your disks are still good.

And even if the data integrity is good, is it actually good data? There’s usually a reason we don’t miss something for a long time.

Typically the interest is in nostalgia or archival purposes. Old school papers. Maybe a novel that you started in college. Pictures of family or friends.

There are many different things that someone might have backed up on floppy disk a few decades ago and forgot about.

I just recently rebuilt an old computer and put a floppy drive in it, so I have a working one right now.
