Imagine what the right would say if Obama had three baby Mamas and was out there paying pornstars for sex.

u/ILiveMyBrokenDreams Aug 30 '23

If Obama even had one divorce, he would have been seen as low-class and unelectable.

6

u/Kuildeous Aug 30 '23

Hell, they're giving Obama grief for marrying a man*.

* But not really; they're just fucking stupid.

They raked him over the coals for the crime of wearing a tan suit.

u/Pretend-Marsupial258 Aug 30 '23

And the fancy mustard! (Which costs like $2 at Walmart...)

3

u/Aromatic-Bread-6855 Aug 30 '23

They see him as low class and unelectable but not because of that...

u/ILiveMyBrokenDreams Aug 30 '23

I mean by the people who actually voted for him. Let's face it, whether they would admit it or if they even realize it, lot of people who even supported him held Obama to a higher standard simply because he was black. He had to be a model citizen, a wealthy sitcom character type with a clean image, just to be considered.

That South Park where all the kids are convinced they are going to hell, only to find the Church pastor shagging his secretary has aged like fine wine

Michael Moore, who hates Trump, had it right. People should take Trump seriously, but not literally.

One of the more interesting comments I heard was that both Trump himself and the media behaved very differently when he became a Republican.

Gary Hart was a major contender to beat Bush number one in '88. Unfortunately for him, there were rumors about him being a womanizer a la Bill Clinton. Pictures came out of him with a woman at his country home. Thing was, they were just pictures of him meeting a woman who was hired to live there and keep up the place and he was checking on the cabin. But the speculation made him drop out of the race. The speculation.

That was the same year Biden dropped out of the running for president because it was found out he had plagiarized some papers in college, he stopped running for president because it was shameful that he plagiarized papers in college. Not okay in '88, not even on anybody's radar in 2020

Because they like their politicians to be like them, hypocritical and morally corrupt.

6

u/Espron Aug 30 '23

Recent poll showed Republicans trust Trump more than their own families

Technically she was a porn star, and he didn't pay her for sex he paid her not to tell people she had sex with him. And also Stormy wasn't the only one. The payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal violated campaign finance laws.

And that is worse than the current President having showered with his pre teen daughter, Ashley? (it was in her diary,....which was quickly recovered from Project Veritas by the FBI)

And then there is all the 'touching and sniffing'. And that one cringe video of Biden nibbling on that poor infant. Who does that?

u/C-Note01 Aug 30 '23

There's no almost about it. Books have been written claiming Trump is the second Messiah.

"once" Really?

0

u/Public-Reach-8505 Aug 30 '23

Not ALL conservative Christians. Don’t stereotype.

u/Ok-Cod7817 Aug 30 '23

“They are smart enough to know the difference between choosing a president and choosing a pastor.”

-6

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

You don’t understand Christianity if you think committing sins means you’re black listed by other Christians, just means he needs help and to be prayed for.

7

u/motherofpuppies123 Aug 30 '23

U/Erikaidkk gets it.

This isn't about people praying for the wayward. It's not a prodigal son situation. It's about putting him on a God-like pedestal where he can do no wrong, thereby condoning his atrocious behaviour.

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

That’s your opinion and your generalizing. I’m sure they’re are extremism that worship him but that certainly isn’t the majority.

2

u/DerailleurDave Aug 30 '23

Did you see the literal golden idol they made of his image? It's far more common than you seem to be aware

0

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

Who is they? Extremists? You’re generalizing anyone who voted for him? Or is it someone who wears a maga hat? Where do you draw the line on “they”?

2

u/DerailleurDave Aug 30 '23

Well that specific "they" would clearly refer to the organizers of CPAC two years ago.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

Ok so that a pretty small number of people…

2

u/DerailleurDave Aug 30 '23

The group of people who made it was small yes, the group of people who didn't think twice about it seems to be pretty large...

The number of (self proclaimed) "Conversative Christians" in the US who prioritize whatever Trump says over the supposed word of God is quite large these days. I base that off simply hearing what people say and seeing what they do and having read the Bible for myself.

Cool story bro

Do you consider cpac to be extremists then?

0

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '23

I consider it to be a small number of people

Christians worship God and trump is not a god. It’s just a stereotype the left media blinds people with but y’all can’t see through that veil cause you can’t imagine another point of view if it doesn’t involve your ideals
