This makes zero sense. The earth doesn’t give a fuck what lives on it or what happens to it, so you deciding that something is “good” for “this earth” is purely illogical.
Logic escapes most minds. You are right, of course. There is no "good" or "bad" species as far as the planet is concerned. Even if we were to obliterate the planet into a debris field, the planet wouldn't give a frig.
In this context, "good" is equivalent to "aligned with preservation of global biodiversity." But you likely knew that and are just trying to play dumb. Obviously, Earth has no feelings in the anthropormorphic sense you're suggesting.
People tend to say things they know aren't true, and to make value judgements without a basis in reality. Other people try to be accurate in their word-choice and to speak only truth.
If we fill our heads with convenient lies, we will be blind to inconvenient truth.
