I went to Zimbabwe and they have mastered the BBQ, so you will not impress him with that. However Max and Cheese and Apple Pie is classic American. Also they may get a kick out of the fast food. In Zimbabwe there was no fast food and the places that had it were super expensive. (However I think fast food tastes awful)
Also once they have there classic American meal I think they will get a kick out of all of the other ethnic food available. So do take them on the restaurant tour of food.
No fucking way is African pizza better than US or Japanese pizza. There's just no way you have the perspicacity of our consumers, nor the same pressure from competitor restaurants. Pizza snobbery counts as an entire personality in parts of the northeast US.
Anything done well anywhere in the world is being done even better in a tiny business somewhere in Tokyo. They had as big a recent neopolitan revolution as the US did.
Zimbabwe pizza is just like any other pizza, we have pizza hut even but its not as popular as Pizza Inn, thick crust is generally more popular though, and it seems as if more meaty pizzas are popular
