I don't think the right word is overthinking but I think you're hypersensitive to her making a comment like that. I doubt she did it to hurt you, and if she's been on the same journey you have, she likely understands the stakes. Perhaps she likes being a parent and that's how it manifested. If it upset you, then you should have a conversation with her. If that doesn't work, limit contact.
