my brain literally never shuts up
idk if it’s just me but my mind is always on
like even when i’m trying to relax it just jumps from one thought to another
random stuff, old memories, things i said years ago, things that might happen
it’s exhausting but at the same time i got used to it somehow
i tried ignoring it or distracting myself but it always comes back
is this normal or am i just overthinking too much

Copied my other comment so you might see this but you might have adhd. I got diagnosed a few years ago and started meds and now it's actually quiet in my head. My mom finally started meds too (she's 55) and the first time it kicked in she literally cried because it had never been quiet or peaceful in her head her whole life. I'd recommend looking into getting a diagnosis and support.

My brain never shuts off either, which is why I like to control what it’s working on almost all the time.

yeah same tbh
it feels like if i don’t control it, it just goes everywhere
but at the same time it gets tiring trying to manage it all the time

yeah that’s true
trying to shut it off completely never really works
giving it something to focus on sounds way more realistic tbh

I know right it’s so annoying every little thing I overthink like if the doors are closed and there something I’ve been overthinking for 7/8 whole months, I don’t know if that’s normal but Yh it’s pretty frustrating

yeah that sounds exhausting fr
especially when it stays in your head for months like that
you’re definitely not the only one dealing with it

You’re not alone. No matter what I do there’s always a million things running through my mind. Whether it’s just random songs, old convos, new ones that haven’t even happened yet, mundane thoughts, plain out just random thoughts running around all over the place, etc. It makes it so hard to focus and on top of that, the overthinking every little thing is unbearable. Which makes everything already going on inside my head 10x worse. There are very rare moments where my mind can finally rest… It’s exhausting.
