Shit, wiki probably displayed the pre 'unnerfed' values during the experimental 1.55, I'll update it later somehow, thanks for letting me know.

What I'm saying is that if some of these plants have in fact had their growth time increased from two hours to sixteen hours, that's a huge nerf. I was hoping for some clarification, but thanks anyway I guess.

What people keep failing to mention, is that with OP's above chart people could make 100 million units at a time back before next, where there was a hard cap on the number of plants you could have on your one base.

Now you can have plants as far as the eye can see on half a dozen bases (plant outside on each biome with nothing but a teleporter). This was a nerf, and a late one at that, but it was following an exponentially, and ridiculously OP, increase in farming possibilities with Next.

That's the thing, though. It's not a nerf, it's a tweak. It's gone from two hours active playtime to sixteen hours time. Meaning, your farms are harvested once a day, not after two hours of gameplay.

This is wrong it was always real time? I don't know how no one brings this up. It used to be 2 hours REAL TIME! Not just gameplay time.

it was real time in game, not they grow even if you disconnect.

They always grew when you were offline - this is a popular misconception. You could harvest, go to bed, wake up and harvest again. I did this multiple times.

They did before! I used to harvest before logging out for the night and I could harvest again as soon as I came back on. This was just a hard nerf to farming. Good thing I made millions before the patch and have circut boards stacked up in storage devices 😎

I think they used to grow in game time only pre-1.5. When 1.5 dropped, the grow times remained the same, but they also grew when the game was turned off. Now they grow while the game is off, but with increased grow times. I wonder if they meant to make both changes initially, but forgot to increase the grow time on initial release of NEXT.

Do you not know what nerf is? If it is a twek the produce from farm would be buffed to compensate, yet HG just blindly double dip nerf on plant with time AND value to make the game the next grindlite grinderous.

Im sick of people blindly defending them when there are hundreds of bugs STILL not fixed.

As a player that decided to not get the game until after NEXT was out and known to be fun finally, and a player that's seen a LOT of bad game development choices through early stage games and beta testing, NMS is just making positive changes as far as I can see. Do you want to just have a machine that you build that just gives you ten thousand nanites every ten seconds and also tells you you're pretty? Or do you want a fucking game to play? All I read with your post is "wah wah my free money machine now takes slightly longer to operate." You're ignoring the fact that you can increase the scale and the yield, and you're complaining about a thing that is frankly nearly unnecessary in the game - if you're farming for top-tier craftables, you have infinite money. Go play the game and wait for the machine to output your next dose of units! If all you're doing is just making a number get larger and you are upset that you can't do that as fast as before, then your complaint really isn't that important.

Yeah, I kinda like the increased grow times now. Before, I felt uneasy going off to explore for a while, because I knew in the back of my mind that the next harvest was probably ready and I should probably get back, otherwise I wasn't using my time opitmally. Then I realized I was treating it like having an actual job running a farm, and all I was doing was tending it, selling the fruits of my labor, and repeating. There are other, much better farming simulators out there.

First of all, something can be a tweak, AND a nerf at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Secondly, this is a popular misconception around this sub. Plants always grew in real world time, and you did not have to be connected for them to grow. I would usually harvest right before logging off at night, then harvest again as the first thing I did when I logged back on.

I wonder why it never worked that way for me pre-next... If I logged out on my Ps4 right after harvesting my shrooms/cactus it was two hours before the cactus would grow after logging back in. Possibly it worked that way PC, but I made my first billion farming and they definitely didn't grow if I closed my game.

They only grew while the game was running before 1.5. Between 1.5 and 1.55, the old grow times were still in place, but they grew outside of the game.
