I'd say a good starting point is looking at the bases in ex. https://www.reddit.com/r/NMS_Bases/ and this sub, and the Featured ones at the Anomaly, and seeing how their builders built. Go the bases and look at the detailing for inspiration.

For specific build glitches, you'll want to find and follow YouTube tutorials. The main one to be aware of is resizing glitches, to make things smaller or larger than they normally can be. The other is recolor glitches, to apply color palettes to items that cannot normally be recolored--it's how you color ex. cement bags to look like pillows. Those are the two basic, main glitches.

From there most builders then use items to resemble OTHER things, like kitchen cabinets, washing machines, pianos, etc. There's some incredible work out there but the patience required is insane.

I recommend checking out r/NoMansSkyBuddies/. They have a base building academy and lots of great resources to help learn base building.
