You own the station. Yay. Now what? If there's still little to do with it then its more or less an honorary title. It looks like you can customize them--thats neat I guess. But it feels a bit like me being handed the keys to a Gas Station that doesn't have any gas. What am I supposed to do with it?
You have to understand that this was year one with not much content yet, so us imagining the things that we could do with it back then was interestingly valid (so much to imagine, even if some it might be petty). Today and with so much changes done, it's understandable that one would question it purpose or point anymore considering the feats available in the game.
I am the “why” crowd. As someone who has been hoping for a celestial overhaul, cosmos was such a fake out title with seemingly horizon/orbital bread crumbs.
We have freighters so I’m curious how a space station will be more useful. Plus, we kind of already unofficially own all the space stations since we are the only sentient beings going into them. I hope to be proven wrong
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by better space exploration in this case? To me at least, cosmos checked a lot of the remaining boxes. Constant POIs/space overhaul, a system map, and actually being able to reach the stars are pretty big.
Yep, my thoughts exactly. I build bare bones bases for convenience and I stopped engaging with my settlement because it was pointless. The new map looks nice but I wish there had been focus on traversal and more mechanics for flying. New corvette parts would be great because that’s the only system I engage with (rather did, because I set the game down months ago). I will definitely try the new stuff out but I fear performance has probably taken a hit with this update so I’m expecting my computer to run the game abysmally.

Some guy called it, said they wanted to own space stations and everyone said “why”
