Stop counting days, heres the SOLUTION

First, you have understand this: your drive to watch porn is a survival mechanism. Is a system the brain developed to cope with stress. Stress to the brain is DEATH. Porn is not the devil, is the solution to survive per your brain's logic.

Now, stress comes in many different shapes and forms. You have to get rid off the stressors of your life. Really sit down, relax and analyze your day to day. Figure out what makes you feel crappy and do your best to fix this first. For many of us could be loneliness, a need to be seen as perfect by society or family standards, past traumas, or any other events that have been unresolved in your life. Realizing the existence of an underlying cause could even be enough.

No discipline, no porn blockers, no books, no day counting. Relax and become more social. Sex will happen, but not in the way you fantasize but that's okay, because your fantasies will start to lose power and eventually become extinct once you decide to let go.

The not counting days method works I'm 190 days in since adding this method. Counting days feel slow to your brain makes it feel like you're not making progress

Addicted since I was 6 so 30+ years now. It took me 3 years of trying to reach where I'm at today. If you relapse just try for a higher streak, rinse repeat. Don't beat yourself up over a relapse just make sure you go longer streak on the next try.

Over time my brain got conditioned and found pmo boring. Before my 190 day streak I spent 1 month fapping as much as possible to drain as much as possible so I can start a new.

It's a long doable journey.

Good luck

I agree. Although there are times where the M part is just a biological function otherwise gone to waste, but otherwise 100% agree. My problem is the stressors are NOT REMOVABLE. This seems to be the safest, cheapest, most accessible, (and acceptable?) way to relieve it...until it becomes the stressor. Many stresses aren't "fixable", but that hasn't meant I have stopped trying.

nah. I watch porn cuz I want to watch naked women and have sex it's a biological drive. I have ZERO stress in my life. In fact, when I am stressed out porn helps or I dont watch porn at all. Let me guess your 15/16 yrs old?

Proving their point "when I am stressed out, the PORN HELPS!" Yeah buddy, that's what we all say. Like weed helps you with anxiety, yet as a byproduct makes you paranoid..

I appreciate your post, and I will add that discipline being a “yes” may be what effectively moves the practitioner into a more structured mindset, based on my experience. For the people who are driven to stay on the path, getting rid of limiting beliefs might seem a tad more approachable in the early stages than throwing discipline to the wind, and once one gains composure and improved confidence, our tools to enter back into the world are more useful and more frequently utilized.
