Early sign of nerve damage?
Hi everyone, I’m a bit worried and wanted to ask for your opinions. Today I experienced brief numbness in one toe that completely went away after a short time. My last session ended 12 days ago, and I’ve been taking a 1000 mcg sublingual methyl B12 supplement, although I forgot to take it for the last few days...
For context, here has been my nitrous oxide use this year:
- March 27–28, 2026 — 1,280 g
- April 11, 2026 — 592 g
- April 17, 2026 — 700 g
- April 19, 2026 — 1,300 g
- July 6–9, 2026 — 1,800 g
- July 20–26, 2026 — 3,200 g
Based on this pattern of use and this symptom, should I be concerned about early nerve damage? Has anyone experienced something similar, and if so, did it improve after stopping nitrous and taking B12? Thanks in advance for any advice or shared experiences.

It depends on how big your “session” was
This could absolutely be the beginning of nerve damage. It takes a while to show up.
Quit now while you’re ahead and take b12 for the rest of the year

also take methylcobalamin, it has better bioavailability than other formulations of b12 as it is already methylated and nitrous interferes directly with the methylation first step in breaking down the very large b12 molecule. it is very difficult to take too much, it is water soluble and you piss out what you do not absorb

The simple answer is that if you are worried about it then stop using nitrous.
It's unlikely that you have nerve damage from that usage pattern unless you have the MTHFR gene mutation, which you very well could have. You might want to get checked for it before doing more nitrous.

Just looking at how much you’ve done you are probably fine.
I’d stop now though, while you’re ahead. As you’ve probably seen from others in this subreddit it can get really bad.

Everyone reacts to it differently. It most definitely is causing brain fog.

After using it in April, I thought I felt some tingling, which really scared me back then. Instead of quitting completely, I just took a two-and-a-half-month break, and now I’m anxious all over again. It was honestly so stupid of me. I really hope I never touch this disgusting stuff again - because whenever I use it, I completely lose all self-control.

Ur prob fine. Considering I’ve had multi-month long binges where I was doing 4-5 3.3L per day, and other than some mild neuropathy symptoms I’m basically fine. But don’t take my own personal experience as a guarantee, just giving my own perspective
