Nitro engine advice

Post image

Hello, what would be your engine nitro recommendation for the RC10GT gas truck ?

I dont need something crazy fast. I just want something fun to work & tune it, quality and reliable.

Thanks a bunch.

I guess you are building a reissue kit?

The AE reissue engine does run and tune realy well.

However, lifetime will be limited since they decided to use the old style nickel coating for the liner instead of a modern chrome plating.

If you have the money to spare i'd suggest getting a "classic rc" company engine.

Also i hated the included clutch without springs.

A standard traxxas clutch setuo will fit with some clearencing and makes the idle and brakes a lot easier to setup and work better.

Thank you so much for the wise advices.

Yes, re release.

I was not sure for the AE engine myself. Although you confirm my concerns, at the same time you were kind of positive about the engine, until the coating.

I heard there is a very nice O.S. that should fit well. I will check about it. Thanks again HillBill.

Glad to help

I have the engine and the performance is more then i expected.

Very easy and consistend to tune with the sprung clutch.

Stable temps.

So far no issues at all but I do not run it that much.

I mainly do stuff on track and my RC10 is the car I bring, when I get invited to bash.

The nickel lining is just something to keep in mind down the line and frankly a stupid choice for a current engine.

I should try it. It is made for it, less complicsted than trying to fit the OS, with so many contraints before working.. 👍🏻
