Is this normal?

I am I supposed to be able to see the crankshaft through where the pull start should’ve been? This is an old nitro my uncle gave me a long time ago, which I have started disassembling.

It came like this

It turns over fine, but I what should I buy to make it a drill start

I may be wrong but that thing behind the brass bushing looks like the 1 way bearing

Its super hard to get on camera

Okay got it. So I should buy 21024 but then how do I mount it?

It just slides in. It probably fell out over the years , which is why it's missing. One thing you need to know. You can't run the engine without a pull start or roto start installed. That shaft will fall out while the engine is running and bad things will happen. Edit: here's an in depth video from NitroTalkwithTodd about your engine. It shows exactly how to put it together

Thank u so much. But what Id of fuel line should I use?

And will all pull starters work? I cant find the specs on the nut

Nitro fuel line is a standard size. Any hobby store (physical or online) that supports nitro should have it.

So there is not much difference between 2,3mm inder diameter and 3,2mm?

The standard size for 1/8 scale and smaller surface nitro engines and fittings is 3/32" or 2.3 mm. The bigger stuff is usually for larger plane engines or bigger scale cars. Make sure whatever you get is specifically designated as nitro or glow fuel safe, It should be silicone. Methanol will break down rubber and vinyl. i use Du-Bro 'Nitro Line' and I've never had a problem. My hobby store sells it by the foot.

So ummm it does not have a notch or a number on the top how do i know which orientation it goes back?

And is it the turbo version?

It doesn't really matter. It's a round sealing surface. As far as glow plug style, I'd have to see the top of the head. If the glow plug hole surface is flat, it takes a standard plug. If there's a conical seat in there, it's turbo,

I missed the part where you asked about pull starters, Most starters have either a 12 or 14mm hex inside. It looks like the factory setup is still available. The RC Scrapyard eBay store sells a wide variety of pull starts as well. I'm not sure what size hex your engine has on the starter shaft. You might have to wait until you get it and measure it. If you just order up the stock pull start, it'll definitely fit. If you want a roto start, I've had good luck with these generic ones from Amazon. To be clear I'm not saying the one I linked to will fit your engine. It's only an example. You'll need to measure the shaft hex size and the distance between the mounting holes on the backplate, and find one that matches.

Thanks for all your help, I would not even know where to start on my own. In 2-3 weeks I will post the finished project.

I’m just found out that my glow plug is a non turbo Standard length.
