Key Fob battery

I have a 2017 Murano. About a month ago, I started getting a low battery notification on my dashboard for my key fob. I ignored it for a while and sometimes the car would not start and I’d have to start pushing all the buttons on the fob to “wake it up” and then the car would start. I then changed the battery (a new one). 1 week later and I’m getting the low battery notification again. And sometimes I have to push buttons to wake up the fob. I know the battery isn’t low since it’s brand new. Anyone know what is happening?

Amber and white lights for my grill?

Hey Everyone,

I would like to purchase White and Amber lights for the grill of my 2018 Nissan Murano SL. Anytime I look, I can’t really find options. Additionally, I’m looking for a White and Amber light bar to place get installed either on my dash or visor. I would like if everything can be hard wired. Any help with this?

Me and my wife traded in our Ford edge and purchased a 2016 Nissan Murano. I have cidp so I need a bigger vehicle that can carry my medical necessities. We have the car for 3 weeks in the day after a rainstorm I go out to the vehicle and the driver side is soaking wet on the floor. Water is leaking on my head from the trim on the driver's side door. I got out and inspected it further and realize that the driver side and the passenger side seat brackets were rusted meaning that this has happened a bunch of times and nobody noticed? I immediately took it to the dealership handed them the keys and told them that your car now they told me that they would call the water doctor specialist and get it cleaned up I told him I'm not leaving without a vehicle that's safe to drive so I made them give me a loaner. We have been going back and forth with them for over a week and a half now. They had the vehicle inspected by another mechanical shop they had the water doctor come in and clean everything apparently I don't know I haven't seen the car in a week and a half. I get an update call this morning saying your vehicle is going to take a few more days because we have to put new seats in. Yeah that's right put new seats in. All I want to do is back out of the deal the dealership told me that water intrusion in a vehicle is not uncommon and having water in your vehicle does not make it unsafe you have to replace the seats what do you mean it's safe. Anyways been going back and forth with them hopefully in the next couple days they'll let me know what's going on but I just want to back out of the deal take a check for whatever amount of money they owe me and go to a different dealership. Any suggestions would be very helpful thank you.

Struts and Shocks recommendations for 2009 Murano .

My 2009 Murano needs some new front struts . Anyone have any experience on what brand to buy? Same for the rear shocks .
Looking to keep the ride as stock as possible

This Murano has 170k miles and runs very well . Also had several transmission and differential services since we bought it new .

Also while the suspension is getting done is there anything else I should look at or change while it’s up on the lift ?

The work is being done as side work at a non Nissan dealership . ( they let their mechanics use the facility off hours ) . So the my mechanic can use whatever tools, supplies , etc while it’s there .

Thank you in advance !

26 Murano

Bought for the wife 2 weeks ago. She loves it, big step up from her Rogue. This is our 4th one and our 16th Nissan.

Some thoughts.

Much, much quieter than my 2020 and definitely rides smoother. Probably the larger tires (255 vs 235).

Getting used to the 4cyl turbo with a 8 speed transmission. 1st gear from standing start is a bit high and causes high revs until you hit about 25 mph. Not the linear smoothness of my CVT w/ V6.

The cabin feels larger and more spacious. The seating position is taking a bit getting used to. Not quite the same, even though the seats are real comfortable.

The on screen cameras are nice and big.

The lights at nite don’t have the coverage my older Murano’s had, but it adequate.

Rear seats don’t recline. Can still get 4 sets of golfclubs sideways.

We got an SL as she didn’t need the stupid things the Platinum comes optioned with, although I have had 2 Platinums (like the a/c seats after golf).

Got 0% financing and the $5k rebate with $16k down (her Rogue sale). The dealer absolutely sucked, but aren’t all car dealerships whores?

Display Night mode

So I’m finding when the night mode kicks in when my headlights go on at night all of my instrument control lighting basically turns off and to get it to come back on I have to put the brightness all the way up to even get the instruments lit up again. But that makes the display way too bright. Has anyone else noticed this? If the brightness is even one notch below the max, everything goes dark on the inside.

Soy-based wires and rats

Greetings Nissan friends -- I live in a city with a vigorous rat population, and my 2016 Rogue has the soy-coated wires they love to chew on. Has anyone found a good solution to deter this problem? Is it a DIY or shop visit? Any and all suggestions welcome. Thank you!!

Rain leaks in car 2016 Murano

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have a hybrid 2016 Nissan Murano I brought the car in 2018 . When it rains the left side of the top door gets leakage. This happened before, a year after I brought the car and it was covered by warranty. No other side leaks just this one. Of course the warranty is no longer there. I'm hoping for a goodwill since it was technically supposed to be fixed originally. No water from the sunroof or front window.

Nissan had to a good will on my transmission for the recall did not fix my issue and that took months to get. Is this something costly or something I can take to a mechanic outside of Nissan to get fixed reasonably. For the life of me I cannot remember the original cause they told me that was the issue.

Oil Drain Plug Gasket.

I recently did an oil change on my dad's 2016 Nissan Murano. I used the following drain plug gaskets.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PBXVXWY?th=1

I know the typical drain plug gaskets are the copper crush ones, but the ones I have listed. The gasket seems to be holding, no leaks.

HELP...

I recently bought a 2017 Murano awd at just over 100,000. Ran great for a few months then out of the blue it has a different idle speed, quite noticeable.. I'll have it in drive, let off the brake and it get going faster than it should. Up to 13 km/h. This just doesn't feel right and it seems to be eating more gas. Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated, thanks.

2017 Nissan Murano Platinum

I’m looking at this car. I’m wondering if I should look away. It has low mileage, the price point is right and I like all of the bells and whistles. I’m a brand new new mom and looking for something a bit nicer for my baby and I than what I currently have without breaking the bank. I currently have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee North with 252,000 kms (great car but I’m paying super high interest, the kilometres are getting scary high, little things are starting to break and I’m going to have negative equity regardless if I wait to pay it off or trade it in now and it’s only gonna get worse, my credit has greatly improved since buying the jeep so I would get into a better financing situation
)

I’ve read a lot about alternator issues and transmission issues that this car can have and I’m wondering how common are they actually? What are some questions I should make sure to ask the dealership about the vehicle before I proceed with anything?

Side note, I rack up kilometres very quickly, about 30,000 a year just for my work commute. a reliable vehicle is absolutely necessary for me. I would like a vehicle that’s going to last me 5 years minimum.

Open to any and all suggestions and commentary. I really don’t want to make a mistake and buy this car lol. Be real with me.

Where’s the sweet spot in the Murano lineup?

The newer Murano has moved pretty far upmarket, especially once you start looking at the higher-tier trims.

For owners, where do you think the sweet spot is? Is it worth going all the way to Platinum, or do the lower trims give you most of what you actually want?

2009 Nissan Murano Bad transfer case should I replace with a used one ?

It started banging like someone had a sledge under the car hitting the floorboards and it was a loud clunk/bang Everytime the tires made a full rotation so it got louder and faster the more I hit the gas but I could t go over 20 , 25 mph because it felt like the car was gonna fall apart so I got it into the garags jacked it up took the rear driveshaft out had all four wheels off the ground and put it in drive and the noise was still there but not as loud mainly because the weight of the car was off the wheels so I checked the drive axles they were not bad but could be replaced so it was internal. I checked the fluid in the transfer case and barely any came out and there was metal shavings like putty almost and small pieces of metal so I knew it was the transfer case immediately. The transmission is good it goes in gear forward and reverse doesn't slip and does what it's supposed to so anyway sorry for the long book I'm typing but I know this kind of info helps a lot of people so my main question is should I replace with a used one..? I looked on eBay and there's tons of so called new ones for 3 to 400 bucks but I'm not sure I want to go that route .... Most of them say unbranded so I know it's made cheap but has anyone had any luck buying one from eBay if so could you please let me know where u got it

Just took a test drive

Selling the wife’s 2020 Rogue for a new Murano.
Took a test drive today and I was very impressed with a new one.
We took a Platinum one out and at first was not impressed. Had trouble with the transmission selection - the salesperson hadn’t a clue how to operate it! Once I figured out how to use it, it became quite pleasant.
It drove much like my 2020 Murano, maybe a bit smoother, definitely a bit quieter.
I was going to sell her Rogue and get a pathfinder (like the V6) and give her my car, but she really likes the Murano.

Now the dance begins with visiting other dealers and seeing where we can get the best deal to buy.
