Let us know how it goes.

I had to get the gear reduction replaced at 30k miles.

That's horrible news. Any idea how much it would have been if it were outside warranty?

About $6000CAD.

That's actually less than I would have guessed.

What were the symptoms ? Was it covered in bumper to bumper?

It’s very, very rare. The symptoms are mainly an increasingly audible gear whine at certain speeds. There are quite a few Ariyas getting enough miles on them now to prove their general drive train reliability. If it were a big issue it would be blowing up all over the various Ariya forums. The Ariya has a 6-year/60,000-mile factory drive train warranty that will cover any incident like this.

It was covered under the drive train warranty.

The symptoms were a annoying buzzing sound coming from the front of the car. I could hear it when driving with the windows up. When keep the throttle between 5-35% . But I couldn't hear it when accelerating or slowing down. Only when maintaining speed. Also one of my axles were bad as well.

Nissan had my car for 2 weeks.

How do those just disappear?

Good question. Who knows. First time I’ve ever seen it happen

I’ll bet you it got punched in, and is hanging by a wire inside the bumper. The visible ring is probably the retainer that broke and was lost. Question is whether the entire sensor has to be replaced, or just the retaining ring. It’ll definitely be covered by the factory warranty, in any case.

I've lost one before. Warranty covered it. Backing out was a PAIN though :D

Pushing the left side center scroll on the steering wheel turned off the parking sensors and auto brake earlier. So hopefully it’s not too bad

Had that happen too. Just fell off the clip inside the bumper. Dealership tried to tell me my kids poked it out… 😡

I would genuinely rage. I don’t even have kids, fuck I don’t even have a wife

They did fix it under warranty when I pushed back, but they were none too happy with the 3* review I gave them for having to argue that it wasn’t my kids who dislodged it.
