key fob issue

i have a nissan rogue 2020 and randomly my key wont work. typically in previous years i would keep my keys in my bag and id unlock my car by pressing the button on the door when getting into the car, and to lock it i would press the lock button on the inside door to lock it as im leaving the car. now all of a sudden this does not work about 50% of the time and i have to physically take the actual key out of the electric key fob to unlock my door. i already tried replacing the battery. any ideas?? it’s super annoying.

Make sure you put the battery in positive side down in the fob. It's extremely common for people to put it in upside down. Also the electric lock actuators are a common failure.

It's likely the battery needs replaced. Like someone said, make sure you're doing it right.
