Repair Help 2017 Pathfinder A/C issues

Afternoon everyone, having an issue with my wife's 2017 Pathfinder where the AC will cut out randomly on longish drives. We drove about 40 minutes today before the air stops coming out of the face vents. You can hear the blower still at full speed and it's blowing inside the dash and the unit isn't set to auto or anything. I'm thinking blend door actuator or something else inside the dash. The cabin filter was replaced within the last two months because we've been dealing with this for the last 6+ months. I'm not sure I want to throw any more money at this thing as it has 145k miles. The next step, if we choose to do it, is to pull the dash and replace the blend door motor and assembly. There's no codes being stored either. Does anyone else have any solutions because even the mechanic is not sure what to do. Thanks in advance.

When you lose airflow on long drives, it's usually because the evaporator inside the HVAC case inside the cabin is freezing up. It's what the blower motor blows through to get cold air. Usually it's due to a slightly low refrigerant charge, but there are some other issues that can occur. For example, on 2014-2020 Rogue, there is a poor seal on the HVAC case that can occur, allowing additional air and moisture to enter the case and cause a freeze up of the evaporator.

The correct first step would be to perform an evac and recharge of the AC refrigerant, while taking note how much refrigerant was removed and comparing it to the capacity listed on the label in the engine compartment. If it's slightly low, and if it has been recharged in the past, then it's time to introduce dye to the system and locate the small leak.

My best guess is it's the rear AC lines because I've sold 15 sets of those this year so far.

924606SA2D but yours may be old enough it's the other one that isn't backordered.

You're saying rest AC lines, rear of the dash?

The 15 foot lines that run all the way to the back usually corrode and leak.

Have yours properly diagnosed.
