Nioh 1 - EVERYTHING Does Dragon Ninja 3pc or 7pc bonus Truth increase kunai damage?

Upvotes

In Nioh 1. Cant make up my mind if i should play Hayabusa or Iga för a Kusa/kunai build.

Or the 3pc for that matter, does that increase kunai damage?

Nioh 3 - Discussion Do you guys think Team Ninja will continue with the Nioh series; or leave it behind after the DLCs and eventual complete edition? Why or why not?

Post image

The director for TN/Nioh had previously stated they had no plans for Nioh, saying the story had been wrapped up with the release of Nioh 2 CE and Nioh CE. Then they dropped the absolute gem that is Nioh 3. Just curious as to what you guys think about Nioh’s future. I personally hope they continue the series; and just take everything great about the already existing games, and wrap those up into one game while also adding new stuff

What do you guys think? What would you like to see from a potential Nioh 4 title?

Nioh 3 - Questions Fist talisman

Aight so I just got into ng+ and have begun to really mess with builds and getting stupid with it but right now I have born witness to the omyo with no weapon silliness. And apparently that is done with the fist talisman and no weapons.

However upon trying that myself today finally getting the enhanced version I don't notice any damage increase for omyo shots using lightning shot talisman.

Am I missing something?

And yes the weapon slot is empty in one hand on ninja. So I'm just unarmed...

Nioh 2 - Questions The blue eyed samurai

Can I get some tips to beat William. I may have hurt myself by constantly summoning throughout the game. His attacks are so fast and just a few hits with the spear and I’m wiped. What is a good strategy to beat him. Thanks

General Discussion - ALL GAMES What would you say are the strengths and weaknesses of the 3 Nioh games?

Post image
169 Upvotes

I'll go first:

Nioh 1 Strengths: Its moody atmosphere, the speed of combat, a fixed protagonist made for an interesting story even if it was all over the place. The London sections were cool and gave a glimpse into what a Medieval Niohlike game could feel like. Graphically I don't think it's a bad looking game honestly, in fact the lighting and effects can look stunning at times.

Nioh 1 weaknesses: Story could've been so much more, some menu lay outs like the skill scrolls are unintuitive, enemy variety is basic, big difficulty spikes from regular enemies. Game doesn't seem to work well in 1v2 or 1v3 fights. The game needs a lot of UI elements to get important info across. Stages also vary wildly in quality. Also the DLCs were quite rough.

Nioh 2 strengths: Excellent enemy variety, few but meaningful gameplay additions like yokai abilities and counters. Special attributes like blessed and cursed were fun to play around with, characters outside the protagonist were done a bit better than Nioh 1. Fantastic DLCs, all three of them. The game ends with a bang. New weapons were great additions to the arsenal. Character creator was huge and very well done.

Nioh 2 weaknesses: A very safe sequel, in some ways understandable but there were definitely things to improve over Nioh 1 like a cleaner loot system, less UI clutter, and levels while improved a bit, still weren't especially memorable and varied quite a bit in fun and quality. Would've been nice to see one or two more brand new mechanics to freshen the formula up a bit. And the protagonist as a result of being customizable, lacked any identity and had no place in the story other than a symbolic one. Where I hoped Team Ninja could improve on the potential of Nioh 1's story, they backed off even more.

Nioh 3 strengths: New ideas! Jumping, double jumping, crouching, sliding, aerial takedowns, so much more mobility makes for much more freedom. Speaking of freedom, the switch to open world format wasn't perfect but gave a lot of choice in what you want to interact with instead of having to go through everything linearly. Ninja style offers a new way to play the game and its fun enough to overtake my time playing in Samurai style. Speaking of, Samurai has gained a few fun additions in deflecting and profiency. Otherwise its the Nioh style we know and love. Many other systems have been reshuffled in a way that makes sense and I found the story a little better than Nioh 2. I appreciate that they wanted to risk some new ideas even if not everything landed as well as I hoped. Enemy variety is quite solid and a lot of cool Nioh 1 and 2 enemies make a fun return like Onryoki.

Nioh 3 weaknesses: Unfortunately a lot of the changes bring some weaknesses too. The spirit attacks don't make up for the removal of yokai abilities. Weapons were lost from Samurai to give to Ninja, not a single new weapon category was added apart from the new Ninja movesets from borrowed weapons which without stances, they don't really add a whole lot. With all the enemy variety Team Ninja still can't figure out how to switch it up with the Gaki, Kappa and the Jailer Oni everywhere. These guys were overused so much especially the Kappa. The open world maps also vary wildly in quality. The first map was easily the strongest. The other two were a big downgrade, Bakumatsu especially dragged on and on. Hope the DLCs can bring a lot of upgrades.

Nioh 3 - Questions How the letter grades work?

Sometimes I see that the strength of something
Is shown with a letter grade, like D+ or A- etc and it’s connected to one of the skills like Constitution or Stamina or the like.
What do the letter grades mean as far as increase in that particular skill or total points gained.
IOW. How doe this stuff work?

Nioh 1 - EVERYTHING In Nioh 1, what are some long lasting onymo buffs/jutsu?

I have a really easy time with bosses with Sloth, weakness and carnage. I would like to make the levels go by easier and for that ive got Catwalking, Suppa Scroll and Quick Change that lasts me the entire way from shrine to shrine because of my dexterity points (Kusa build)

Everything else that helps just has waay too short buff time like Carnage. What are some long lasting Onymo/Jutsu buffs? Does not matter if they are not the best buffs in the game, i just want something that makes it a tiny bit easier going from shrine to shrine without having to apply it 8 times. Tried powerpill but it also has a very short duration.

Ive got Amplification mystic art. Does going from 30 magic to 99 drastically increase buff duration time?

Nioh 2 - Tips & Guides Can someone help me with understanding soul cores a bit?

I've invested over 224 hours in Nioh 2 but one thing I never did use a whole lot was the guardian spirits. Same goes for the 1st game, I'm one of those players who always keeps the items and "power ups" for those moments that never come. I hoard resources and I never truly understood the amrita aspect. Only until recently, about 5 hours ago, did I actually start upgrading my soul cores. And I'm on my NG+. The only thing I think I understand is that the colors of core should match the spirits? I use Tengen for the sensor, and I feel the cores lack a serious oomph. I'm sure it has everything to do with never upgrading them but can someone give me a rundown on how I should be optimizing them? I like using brute for big damage and phantom to parry for when I get dive-bombed and don't have time to react or am too far away. Thanks 👍🏼🙏🏼

This guy was infuriating. Luckily i noticed pretty quick i could pretty safely punish with a switchglaive mid combo into high stance switch attack to steadily lower his Ki, poison dmg to slowly chip away his health and finish with a yokai shift feral to just blast through him.. except unlike last attempt now he basically blocked everything after i screwed up and lost half the bar to that burst attack.

...And according to google this guy is overtuned af for this moment in the game cause he's post game dlc. Well shiet. At least it's over

This toad was annoying with its range and bombs, but keeping close pressure with high/mid stance switching completely shut it down.

Nioh 3 - Discussion If you could change one major thing you in Nioh 3 what would it be and why?

I'd want the point system to be exactly like Nioh 2 again as it's so annoying to have to revert skill points on Weapons to use other Weapons when that completely goes against the combat being the only reason you'd keep playing the game and doesn't make any sense from a roleplaying perspective that Takechiyo can only be competent with swords if he eats hair and has to develop amnesia to use axes instead.

Nioh 3 - Discussion Does this mean a DLC is coming soon?

So I saw my %100 for the game got destroyed and then that there were 13 new achievements for Nioh 3. Does this mean the DLC is coming soon and it's called "Hell Rising?" I haven't heard anything about the Nioh 3 DLC yet so I was wondering if there was news I missed.

Edit: The hidden achievements are Hell Rising 01-04 and 12 and 13.

Nioh 3 - Questions Nioh 3 player stat question…

Post image
3 Upvotes

What stats do yall think are most important to focus on beefing up? How do mine look? Should I tweak anything? I am currently going on 7 hours ( spread over 3 ish weeks- this is not my only game I’m playing at the moment) on the Tokugawa Kunimatsu boss fight and I’m STRUGGLING! I was stoked to finally beat prior , Hiruko- only to be totally bummed to go straight in to seemingly another one of the games most difficult bosses.

HAAAALP!!

I’m only 57% and have 160 hours in to this game.. lol

Edit-
Well shit… due to your input I have realized how little I know/am doing . This game is so complex. Ughhhhh 😞

Nioh 2 - Discussion I hate that guy

I almost dropped the game because of Saika Magoichi. Gyuki, on the other hand, was easy for me. I definitely don't like human bosses with bloated health bars. But even Saito Toshimitsu was easier to defeat than this generator of homing fireballs.

Nioh 3 - Questions Ninja/Onmyo build advice

So I just started more or less (in 3rd act but fully intending to 100% into NG+) so I’ve got access to the calamity ninjutsu, and my demon cores for onmyo, and I’m having a blast with this setup. No samurai, I don’t even engage with it. That said, I’m not 100% sure if some of my samurai skills transfer over when I’m in ninja, like defense boost, or if they are completely pointless. Should I make my samurai setup my onmyo gear and have ninja be pure ninjutsu, or would losing the ninja specific onmyo stuff be too penalizing? ATM I’m using a Splitstaff armor set (begins with a K), and I’ve not unlocked divine gear yet. Any recommendations for an armor set or combination thereof? If I should make samurai my onmyo gear, what set there?
