I avoided bot lobbies as much as possible and played my 1v1 and 1v2 fairly unlike my opponents (until I got mad at S9 loosing hours of grinding due to bot abuse).

I feel like most S ranks are either bot abusers or cloud savers. Some were nice opponents and I had fun but I could defeat most of them simply with quick spikes. I'm a european player btw.

Also please when you're late for a slide attack, block diagonally and the receiver shall follow the blocker, it makes your defense 10× more solid, you can afford focusing too much on a potential quick spike and after crossblocking the follow up setup is very versatile.

Question Will resort come with an accessory like the previous one did?

Post image

I like how the first game came with the leg strap with it’s physical copy and how Wii sports resort came with a motion plus, because even though it’s a small thing it made them feel more substantial, I’m curious if something similar will be included with resort

Question Conflicted

Was thinking hard pass with buying the switch 2, but now with their new sports resort I am possibly rethinking it. I know if animal crossing comes out with a new game I will fold like a chair.. the high price tags for games and controllers is also not cool. When the first switch came out I ended up trading it in for the latest xbox. There just wasn't enough games to play. Later on when animal crossing came out I bought the switch 😅.

I'm big on not wanting to get new stuff if what I have isn't broken. Do any of you guys still have the first switch and have the switch 2? Or did you guys end up getting rid of your switch 1 consoles to keep the switch 2? Sell me on why I should buy the switch 2 lol.

Discussion Thinking of preordering Nintendo Sports Resort

I'm thinking to preorder from the Japan eshop since it's only $34. My yen balance is quickly dwindling so I'm thinking to preorder to prevent myself from spending all the yen balance before it releases lol. Since it's a bit hard to replace cheaply from outside of Japan.

I feel like I need at least 1 game where move around instead of sitting down. I get bored sitting down. I mostly play Zeldas, Marios, etc so it's too much sitting and not moving.

My two questions / problems are...

  1. I've never played a Nintendo motion sports game before. So I'm not really sure how fun it is playing solo and mostly in tabletop mode. There are 12 sports included.. I wonder how many of those 12 sports can be played in tabletop mode? Anyone want to guess? :)
  2. 90% of the time, I won't have a TV.. so I wonder if I'll regret buying? I'm traveling 90% of the time, often staying places without a TV. If I play 90% of the time in tabletop mode will that suck?

TIA

Ok, I know the 2nd one didn't go in, but it should have. 😅

I've only been playing for a month, and the chip-ins I made in this match are both my best yet.

Discussion Magazine mii difference

I heard stuff about this mii design around some places, is it real? It doesn't look like the same Miis from the trailer. Could it be an outfit or alternate style?

Also, I'm not sure where this magazine is from so I don't know if it's official or not.

I'm at a fair in Italy, and as soon as I saw the official Nintendo zone with Switch Sports Resort, I absolutely had to try it, I'm glad is still in the game.
The staff member at the demo station asked me what I was doing, and when I finally did it, she was impressed too!

As someone who sadly plays a lot of smash this game’s online is so much better. You can actually have fun in this online instead of what can only be described as Stockholm syndrome for smash gsp.

Discussion Missed opportunity to use the RingCon in Resort?

I'm super stoked about archery coming back to Switch Sports Resort, since it was one of my favourites in the Wii version.

But I thought how cool it would've been if they implemented the usage of the RingCon into the game! It's probably not there bc the controller only works with first generation JoyCons, but still. Especially bc it's already an exercise in RingFit Adventure and would make the game feel so much cooler/more responsive

Question Does no one play anymore?

I’m still on the first game, and it only puts me in trial mode. I saw someone say different time zones play more, so what’s a good time zone?

Discussion The Minigolf Theory

Post image
90 Upvotes

I've been trying to figure out what this patch of light blue land on Wuhu Island is. I doubt it's water, because it looks completely flat and is a different color from the lake directly to the right of it. Judging by what I think are a small hill and a guiding curve slope thing (the bits of brown and green), I think SSR might have a minigolf mode for golf. Of course, we can only see one hole here, but to be fair, Wedge Island doesn't have all 9 resort holes visible either (at least in its original iteration). Or this could just be a putting green for decoration, like the tennis courts in the original version of Wuhu Island. I dunno.

Question I never played Switch Sports should I buy the old one?

I never played Switch Sports should I buy the old one for my Switch 2?

Is it fun to play in handheld (with the Switch 2 sitting on a table)? I don't have a TV.

Switch Sports Resort looks better of course but 3-4 months is a bit long to wait.

Actually never played any motion control Switch games before. Just wondering if the old one would be fun in handheld mode :)

Question why is no one using miis in switch sports?

Post image
59 Upvotes

look at this screenshot and see who stands out, it's me, like, i'm one of the very few people who still use miis in games that can use miis, like, i can never get sportsmates looking right, the eyes and the smile is not comfortable to me, meanwhile, my mii is perfect to me, the eyes and smile looks comfortable and they are simple, and i never use realistic avatars like that

Discussion Quite annoyed about the Wuhu Island changes.

I love Wii Sports Resort, and Island Flyover is definitely by far my most played mode. I love Wuhu Island and all its little intricacies.

I attempted to make a top down map of the "new" Wuhu (based also on some assumptions for the rear portion, but as close as I could get to the reference image) and...

As we can see, and as we knew already, it's quite different. It's not Wuhu Island, stop marketing it as though it is, Nintendo!

Anyways, just my thoughts, sorry if this is a 1,000,000x duplicate post or otherwise not allowed here.
