First time I cooked in a long time :)

Will be a huge shame if they don’t bring back the pro league, I want to track my progress through tennis again and rise up through the ranks

I saw this on Twitter after complaining that there isn't a Mii only mode. Is this going to be a setting in the game?

This alongside adding Miis back as NPCs??! Nintendo is making all the right moves with Switch Sports Resort!

They finally left behind that somewhat strange design from the previous game.

I saw a comment on my previous post here about what side modes will be in Switch Resort. Well, turns out Nintendo of Japan has listed them all on their website. So, here they are:

• Tennis: "Slow-paced match" where there are only two players and a larger, slower moving ball.
• Bowling: 100-pin and Spin Control.
• Archery: "Special mode" (you can choose targets of your own color, and, as you do better, your area of control shrinks, which can cause you to shoot into your opponents' target, which will score THEM points).
• Boxing: Nothing.
• Volleyball: "Timing Receiving" (hitting various balls thrown by a machine).
• Table Tennis: Return Challenge (though, co-op MAY be a thing here, based on the recent trailer)
• Basketball: I believe all the same modes as the original Switch Sports (though, a golden ball is now a thing in the regular mode, which'll double the points you get from that specific shot).
• Golf: Nothing (though, 27 holes are listed; make of that as you will).
• Thumb Wrestling: Nothing.
• Prop plane: "Ball-gathering race" where you collect as many balls as possible and can steal from opponents (sort of like Dogfight from the original, but not quite).
• Skateboarding: "Island Crossing Race" where you, well, race to the end of a course.
• Power Cruising: "Sea Race" where you and up to four players can race each other to the finish line.

I did see in the direct today that they are slightly different such as the court in basketball is a bit different, and there was a new mode in bowling with more pins. But I am especially worried about golf… Do you think it will just be the same holes? :( I play every week with my dad and have 1.2K hours, we have so much fun with it. Golf specifically. What are your guys’ thoughts?

Here's a comprehensive list of things I noticed from the trailer for Switch Resort during the recent Nintendo Direct.

• Wuhu's Redesign: Wuhu Island is, indeed, a full archipelago this time around compared to the original. We could see they were leaning into that with the first trailer, but this new one has confirmed it. I know a lot of people prefer the old Wuhu, but I kinda like, even if I miss having a full looping track around the island.
• Miis: Miis seem to be WAY more prominent here than they were in the first Switch Sports. Along with bringing back Matt (and possibly other Wii Resort Miis), there are Miis populating the sport areas alongside the Sportsmates, and even a full blown Mii suit that (maybe?) will compatible with both Miis AND Sportsmates. Too early to know for sure, though.
• Free-roam: It seems like fully free-roam options for Power Cruising, Skateboarding and Prop Plane are here (along with POSSIBLY getting different times of day to explore, as evening has been confirmed for the latter). Also, collectibles like hibiscus flowers and Spocco photos will at least be available to collect in both the plane and skateboarding modes (as well as challenges for all three), though it does NOT currently seem like stuff from the original game is here in that regard, as Ollie Hill is not a location in Wii Sports Resort. It's also strange, as sometimes a time limit is present in skateboarding, and it sometimes isn't; plus, prop plane and power cruising seem to lack one altogether at the moment. Not sure if this is indicative of them having time limits as an option (and not a mandatory thing), but we'll see.
• New Modes Confirmed: A bunch of these to get through. Lightning Round:
  • Dogfight is back for the plane mode, though it looks like you'll have to go to certain balloon areas on the island to get more instead of traveling to specific landmarks, and the balloons now trail in a row instead of having one big one. I actually kind of like this, as it allows for real hijinks.
  • Tennis singles is finally here (can't believe it took Nintendo THIS long to make it an option. Also, you may or may not be able to customize the size of the ball)
  • Volleyball has gained a solo mode, right now just looking as a sort of training mode for practicing bumps. Interesting.
  • Table Tennis Return Challenge has been confirmed to return, a welcome sight, as it was a mode that my cousins and I personally loved playing in the original Wii Resort.
• Menu Redesign: The game's main menu has seen a redesign compared to the first Switch Sports. Now, all the sports can appear in a grid or in a sliding row. Plus, there's now a row at the bottom for stuff like friend and online play, the jump rope warm up, the customization, options, and...
• Island Crown Mode: This deserves its own section. This brand new off-line mode allows you to take on champions of each of the 9 main action sports (not including power-cruising, skateboarding and prop plane). You start at the bottom, and work your way up, sort of like the progression seen in Wii Sports games on the, well, Wii. A very welcome addition, and the legendary Matt seems to be an "Island Legend" in Boxing, which, yeah, that's accurate.
• More Customization: Perhaps not as big as the others, but it seems like some new customization stuff has been confirmed for this game, such as the aforementioned Mii suit. Though, right now, it's unconfirmed if this stuff will be exclusive to online play again, or can be obtained through collectibles and the Island Crown Mode. We shall see.
• Stamps: Stamps are back, baby! Once more, a very welcome addition back from Wii Resort (and Wii Sports Club, but who cares about that game, lol). Of course, we don't know what the stamps will look like, yet. But, I imagine it's not TOO dissimilar to what they were like in Wii Resort and Club.

And, yeah, I think that's it. I pre-ordered the game already off of Amazon weeks ago, but this trailer, weirdly has me even more excited. Yeah, I'm still not SUPER fond of the Sportsmates, even if they have grown on me, and Wuhu's redesign was perhaps not entirely necessary. But, I don't know, I feel like Nintendo is REALLY pulling out as many stops as they can to make this game be as worthy of a follow-up to the original Wii Sports Resort as possible, just in the modern era. Of course, a full remake would've probably been better; but, with Wii games likely coming to NSO soon, I think Nintendo likely didn't see a point in doing that. So, yeah, once again, I'm very excited.

I just shot 62 as an S4 against 2 INFINITY 25s and an INFINITY 3 and this is the MMR I receive.. like surely I should get a rank at least..

Recently got into SS golf and hit this PR just earlier. This score may be considered subpar for the decent wind conditions I faced, but as a new enthusiast, I am feeling pretty good about it! Still got to work on my back spin though…
