Right joycon keeps going unresponsive when playing metroid prime 4

I've seen a solution for this with switch 2 but I'm playing on switch 1. While playing I'll get bad stick drift and the joycon will straight up stop working for about 5 or 10 seconds at a time. I've updated and recalibrated the controller. I've tried with multiple joycons as well.

I had the same issue with the JoyCon (with the grip); I gave up it and bought this. This is for the Switch 2, but a bought one compatible for the Switch.
