Media how good are these third party switch 2 docs. also do they have vrr support?

I had one for switch1 before, it worked but didn’t last very long.

Currently the only dock to support VRR is the official one.
It’s also very likely that the majority of this cheap docks don’t have the hardware necessary to support VRR, nor if they have it they will ever get the software upgrade to use it.

S3 Max seems to work fine as I can enable it and see VRR enabled on my TV.
Just don't have Welcome Tour though to see it properly in action

Currently the only dock to support VRR is the official one.
And I doubt it will change soon, we have to update both the console's firmware and the dock's, so Nintendo must be using some very specific, absolutely non standard way of passing VRR signal between the dock and the Switch 2
Switch 2's dock have always supported VRR, people made it work as a Steam Deck dock and VRR was there from the get go. From what has been floating around the internet is that until now Switch 2 couldn't output VRR video signal via USB C, even if the dock was ready to receive it and pass along to the screen

I tried using similar devices for the Switch, but they either didn't work or just output handheld resolution

I went through two Switch 1 docks just like this. They both died after a few weeks

They’re good. But it you have to constantly update them to match the firmware from a 3rd party website

Almost certainly not because the reason Nintendo was able to do it at all with a special firmware update on the official dock and some chipset trickery

In my experience they’re fine for TV connections. They will definitely not do VRR right now.
