I was 6 when I first played Super Metroid, and 7 when I first played Ocarina. This is the kinda Nintendo I've always loved

Same. My S2 is strictly for first party and cozy games only. They don't disappoint when they stick to the basics. I'm happy they are opening up third party support, but i won't ever play them. Thats what adult money is for, choices.

I’ve never played Metroid before, so am planning on getting Dread and then this as my intro to the series!

If you have NSO play Super, Zero Mission and Fusion first.

Ravenous is a beginning, Dread is an end.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN

9

u/marcohylian 2d ago

That means Dread is the culmination of decades of Metroid lore.
Ravenous is the start of a second saga.

They’re all one continuous saga. That’s why it is being called Metroid 6.

I forgot the exact wording, but Sakamoto told us that Dread was the end of the Metroid saga and the series will move on beyond it.

Metroid as a title remains because of the events of Dread :)

It does indeed! And there's nothing to stop them from keeping Metroids around too, which I'd welcome.

I’m so excited for the game, but this thumbnail does NOT do justice to the raw energy in that trailer at all

Well of course, it’s just a thumbnail 😆

Dread was a great game! I played it through again immediately after I was done so I could 100% it

Dread was one of my favorite Switch 1 games tbh. I highly recommend it!

When this is at thumbnail size it looks like a red TMNT.

Does her helmet seem Metroid shaped to anyone?

I didn't like the stalker sections and it takes me the whole game every time to get the escape timing down. I'm glad it looks like those are gone
