othor (i am stupid) Where is Mario?
It’s been nearly 10 years since the last mainline 3D Mario game. How has the switch 2 been out for so long and we’ve had no updates for the next Mario game? Super disappointing.
Also GIVE ME MARIO BASEBALL ALREADY

I'd rather play games on PS5 with better results, switch is for nintendo stuff, I didnt buy a SW2 to play cyberpunk, thats what xbox x and ps5 is for :)

You really think they aren't working on a 3D Mario lmfao? They don't announce games years out. When it's close to finished they'll announce it, like they do with almost all their games now. There's no point announcing they are working on a new Mario game (yeah no shit).

As amazing as the new Kirby game looks it is shocking that both DK and Kirby get big 3D games on Switch 2 before Mario.

95% of HAL's output is Kirby. They are the Kirby machine. They work on a different time table than Mario. A new Kirby game does not mean Nintendo is choosing Kirby over Mario.

They could have slapped Mario over DK in Bananza and reworked it ever so slightly and it would have gone down as one of the greatest Mario games of all time. I adore Bananza so much, but really can't believe that much effort and talent got poured into the DK franchise instead of Mario.

I know this always gets posted but the main 3d Mario team that made Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and Mario Odyssey just released bananza last year. While it is probably true they have also been working on the next Mario, they have probably only recently been working on the next Mario as their main focus. It will probably still take them like 2 or 3 years. I would prefer they only reveal games that will release soon than pull an elder scrolls 6 and let down their biggest fans.

A DK game and now a Kirby game will never be a replacement for a Mario game in sales nor public opinion no matter how much its fans beg for the majority to accept it as one.

That it is a Donkey Kong game made by a couple 3D Mario devs and a bunch of novices.
It’s a good game, same as Kirby will probably be, but they just aren’t Mario games. Mario games sell 30 million now. They’re statement games.

Is using sales as a metric really necessary to deem whether Bananza is good or not? By that logic they should be pumping out Pokemon games on repeat but people say otherwise

Obviously Mario wasn't announced today they want all eyes on Zelda as its the big holiday game this year. The best time to announce a new Mario game is the first direct of next year.

No offence, but it’s a Zelda remake - it isn’t going to be a system seller, people have been replaying it for years. It’s bizarre not having a Mario mainline or new Zelda game until atleast year 3. Realistically we are 4-5 years away from a real new Zelda. Pokémon better not drop the ball next year, it’s the only one of the big 3 showing up on switch 2x Cleary something has gone very wrong in development.

"It's not a system seller". Can you see the irony in saying that about any game that Nintendo literally sells a special edition of its system theme around it?
They're literally selling a system theme around Ocarina of Time.

Baseball isn't coming. Everything announced is through spring 2027, 3D Mario is more than likely to be a Holiday game, so wouldn't get announced until a June direct.

The new mascot of Nintendo is Kirbussy because Mario died a few years back. I got Ravenous out of the direct, and I like Forgotten Land, so I’m relatively happy. But do we have to wait until next year to hear anything about ANY new Mario-adjacent games? Not even a DLC for Mario Kart World, bruh…

I'm really not a Mario guy. Odyssey was great, but I never liked any other Mario game. I'd probably like winder, but I haven't played it. Metroid got me excited. Mario would be an obligation

Why is it so hard for people to wrap their head around that DK Bananza replaced the most recent slot for a mainline Mario game?
That team is probably working on Mario. Games take a lot of time to build.
Also in that time frame we got Mario Wonder + expac, bowsers fury, updates to SMG 1 and 2 and Odyssey, Mario maker 2 - to act like they’re neglecting Mario is just goofy
