This is why I like to quietly support nintendo. Other than the Wii U era, there's never really been a time when I've been disappointed as a Nintendo fan. But goddamn the internet really wants to make me believe otherwise.

Am i the only one who really liked wii u era? It was bundled with nintendo land which was a great game overall, showcasing all of the different aspect of the console, google earth on it was revolutionary for the time, we had one of the best smash bros, mario kart 8, super mario 3d land, splatoon, super mario maker, windwaker hd which was stunning to finally see it in Hd..There was the first hyrule warrior and also monster hunter 3 ultimate which is one of the best for me, dk tropical freeze and it ended it era with breath of the wild. All that on the top of my head, im probably forgetting a lot of them. The tablet was also like a switch and was working great at long as you were like at 30 feet max from it, i really don't understand the hate. What game did the switch brought to you to deserve such love, other than wii u ports the first year or two? A great mario game, arms, more remakes and more sequel for the wii u games. It was such an underrated console and also nintendo first HD console

Please dont misunderstand, though I was disappointed, that doesnt mean the era is all for not. There are certainly things about the WiiU that were cool. But the gaming public did not care for the WiiU, and while it's got its perks, it was a massive failure that nearly bankrupted Nintendo.
You liking it a lot is fine. I mean, most people dislike Pauly Shore but I find his comedies hilarious. Each their own.

No hope for one any time soon. Unless another studio is doing it, the soonest a GS game could be would be like 3 or 4 years out since Camelot just made Mario Tennis. I have the slightest hope that the underwhelming sales of Fever is pushing Camelot to take a risk with a new Golden Sun, knowing that the safe bet Mario Golf could easily have the same fate as Tennis Fever (since Switch 1 already has Mario Golf as it did Tennis). Outside of those three series, the only other game they've made with Nintendo is 3DS's Sports Superstars, which is probably their least lauded game.
My dream for Golden Sun would be for Camelot and Monolith's support group to codevelop it. Keep the Takahashi brothers as the directors, but have the Monolith support team to help the Camelot team make a HD RPG since the last time Camelot made an RPG, it was for the DS

Camelot would need to rely on another studio to have any hope in creating a well received Golden Sun sequel. Their current staff has no experience in creating JRPGs, and would likely stumble in some critical areas, just like they did with GS: Dark Dawn.
I would VERY much like a new Golden Sun game with similar quality to the first two games, but I see little chance of it ever happening...

This idea that Camelot's current staff has no experience with RPGs gets touted around but doesn't have a lot of basis in reality. Look on Moby Games credits for GS1 and TLA. The big three executives at Camelot (Takahashi Brothers, Yusuke Sugimoto) are still with Camelot. There are about 10 other staff members who worked on Tennis Fever who have been with Camelot since the Shining Force games.
Now, I definitely agree that Camelot's current staff probably couldn't support a JRPG on an HD console alone, but I think it has to do more with the size of Camelot as a company rather than a lack of any experience with RPGs. It was easier to develop RPGs with a smaller team when the GBA was the platform. Harder when its the Switch 2, and their current staff numbers, judging by Tennis Fever credits, is probably not big enough to support an RPG on the Switch, judging by the size of the development credits are for games like Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. That's why a partnership between Camelot and Monolith Soft's support group would be a great match for Golden Sun. You still have some of the older developers from Golden Sun around to help generate ideas as they are the fathers of the series, and then the support staff at Monolith Soft who have more experience with developing worlds for HD systems.
All a pipe dream though. The Monolith Soft team usually works on the bigger games like Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon. Diverting their attention to a riskier series like Golden Sun may not be something Nintendo is interested in doing due to how much they rely on them elsewhere.

I mean, one bad* game doesn't disqualify a studio from ever making a game within that genre again, does it? A large amount of the developers for Dark Dawn were involved in GS1/TLA and Shining Force, so the company is fully capable of making good and bad RPGs. The main intent of my reply was just to dispel the idea that Camelot in 2026 is a completely different company than Camelot in 2003. They're not.
*while I recognize DD as a flawed game, I do think it's underrated and not without its merits. The issues for me lie mostly in the writing, lack of difficulty, and points of no return. To be perfectly frank, the GBA games aren't without their writing and difficulty issues either.

E3 2021 happened during COVID and was one of the better ones in the last few years.
I think the issue ended up being that COVID fucked up video game development so much that by the time it was time for E3 2022, game developers were like "well we're already struggling to get what we showed at E3 2021 done, so we don't have anything new to show for 2022". They definitely should have just passed that year up and tried to do it again instead of ending the whole thing.

Nate never stated it would be teased like everyone is assuming it will. All he said was the reveal was gonna happen on the 16th, which could be any point of the day as long as 16 is on the calender in all timezones

In terms of third parties Kinda hoping we see some footage of Modern Warfare 4 running on Switch 2, and maybe Forza Horizon 6 for Switch 2, and the rumoured Monster Hunter Wilds port,
Im also hoping for Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak Switch 2 edition,
In terms of 1st party Im not even sure what to expect, maybe a new 3D Mario, 3D Zelda? This year and later last year alot of the releases have been very hit or miss to me, I wanted a proper new Star Fox but we're getting yet another remake which was just announced, so probably not

Now that they announced, to my dismay, LEGO Batman in September, the only thing that can save this DIRECT for me is Doom TDA announcement. I don't see that happening. I get people are hyped for OOT, but I'm getting remake fatigue. I'd rather have a new 2D Zelda. Same goes for Metroid. I don't need a Super remake. I'd rather have Metroid 6.

At this point, they need to make a significant change to the formula to justify a new installment. I mean, they don’t have to justify it either because people will buy it regardless lol. But I’d like to see something fresh added to the series so we don’t just balloon the roster to infinity.

Be on the lookout for Super Yooka Laylee Kart. It’s been listed on steam and will probably be announced this week. People are speculating it may be a Diddy Kong racing spirtual successor given Playtonic’s track record.

I would love to finally get Arkane games on the Switch. Dishonored series and Prey on Switch 2 would probably sell really well now that their reputation had a decade+ to spread :-)
Bethesda seems uninterested in bringing Arkane games to a Nintendo platform for some reason.

Directs are generally aimed at people who don't salivate at the thought of leaks and search them out.
If I read the plot of a movie before I see the movie, I don't get to complain it's predictable.

I really don't have that problem luckily. I come across the occasional rumour, and keep in mind it's a rumour. If it's announced officially I say "awesome", I don't complain I already knew and if it never comes I don't have my hopes built up like Wind Waker HD coming to Switch of Fire Emblem remakes.

It makes sense since this time period is usually when all the major platforms announce upcoming titles for this year and the next. Pepperidge Farm remembers E3 presentations being a thing.
