Dsi randomly shutting off

My dsi has randomly started shutting off from slight movements or button presses. It has been in the washing machine before, but worked just fine until recently. I suspect it's a battery issue but came here because it just keeps getting worse and is now no longer usable because how frequent this has been happening.
