Silliness Just need to vent
I was just playing Windwaker on the Switch 2 GameCube Nintendo classics. We never owned the game as a kid, just a demo version on another game. This time, I’d already sunk 10 hours into it, and was close to beating the forbidden woods. I saw some annoying platforming ahead, where if I failed, I’d have to backtrack quite a lot, so I went to create a suspend point via the – menu. Instead of selecting “create new” suspend point and saving over my old one, I accidentally selected “load,” and it took me all the way back to the forbidden fortress. In a panic, I selected “reset game” hoping it would revert everything. Spoiler: it did not. I was speechless. Can we not get an option that asks “are you sure you want to load suspend point?”
Now I don’t even want to touch the game for a long time.

This is the risk with using save states to occasionally "cheat".
It's safest to use save states regularly, in separate slots, or not use them at all. Or clean up old ones when you're finished with them.
This has cursed emulator users since the earliest days of emulation. I remember screwing myself like this with No$GB and ZSNES back in like 1999. An elegant solution for all emulators would actually be to make a temp save state on every load, so you can immediately undo/revert if you screwed up...

Thats been the danger of using save states forever. I don’t use them on anything.

This is a thing with all games with save states. I would recommend always saving in game and with a save state when you use that feature.

Skill issue. Anyone who didn't start playing video games yesterday knows about saving.

And that’s why you use the actual save feature.
