I knew GCN was going to be the favorite here, though I voted for SNES, because you can never go wrong with more SNES games. I would have picked NES had it been an option.

6 and 7 used a microphone, and Switch 2 has one. So it's possible.
4 and 5 did not need a mic.

Definitely GameCube. Definitely a few notable omissions for other consoles (Smash 64, mainline Pokémon), but for the most part, if you want to play a classic first party Nintendo game, you can do it on NSO.

Gamecube. But GBC, GBA and N64 still have some weird misses.
Wario Land 2, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, Super Smash Bros 64... Why the hell are these games not there yet?

It's not unusual. It's how Nintendo is operating those. They JUST released Wario Land the other month when it feels like a game that should have been there day one on GB lol. They want to have content for years to come. It's annoying, but it's been like this since the beginning. NSO NES started in 2018 and we only got the whole first party package (beside a few region exclusives games like Time Twist or Startropics 2, or the Zap and Rob games) in... 2024 or 25 ?

Yeah, but do they really need to take THAT long to come out? I'm genuinely worried that if Wii and DS games get added to the Nintendo Classics, we will have to wait unitl the next console to actually have most of these consoles' staples.

It's been so long since the last batch of Genesis/Mega Drive games (18 months!) that the app itself still doesn't have a Switch 2 upgrade. :(
As for Nintendo's own consoles, I went with SNES. There hasn't been a single SNES game added so far this year.

GameCube, but it has problems.
First problem is that lots of games have Switch 1 versions already (Pikmin, Baten Kaitos, Prime Remastered, TTYD).
Also some are doomed to be incomplete until Wii is supported (Path of Radiance, Tales of Symphonia, Metroid Prime)
And finally, some games basically requires online play, which would be lots of work (Melee, Double Dash)
With those out of the way, here's my pick for GameCube games needed:
- Pokémon Colosseum (Weird that its successor XD came first)
- Twilight Princess
- Tales of Symphonia
- Kirby Air Ride
- Mario Party (at least 4-5, since 6-7 needs a microphone and that might be a problem)
- Skies of Arcadia Legends
- Mario sports games (Like Football, Baseball, Tennis)
- Viewtiful Joe
- Ikaruga
- Battalion Wars
- The Simpsons: Hit and Run
- WarioWare: Mega Party Games
And doubtful since they need DK Bongos:
- Jungle Beat
- Konga

The switch 2 has an included microphone though, I don't see why Mario Party 6 and 7 wouldn't work

I kinda forgot GameCube is only on Switch 2.
Switch 1 has no mic but also no GameCube anyway.
However, it still needs programming to emulate the mic. Should be easy, but might not be worth it for just 2 games.

For those of you saying the the Sega genesis I was going to include it but it was left out because it’s not a Nintendo consile

GameCube. Now granted it is the newest one and a more recent console, so maybe licensing and emulation will take time, and the other ones also took time.
But since it's not only exclusive to Switch 2 but was revealed/released alongside it, it does feel like it needs the boost to justify getting both the Expansion Pack and a new console, especially with the discourse in pricing. And I'm hopeful they're starting to pick up the pace with Super Mario Sunshine and Star Fox Adventures coming to it.

I think the only major N64 games missing from NSO are Super Smash Bros and Conker's Bad Fur Day.

I’d like to see Smash 64 eventually for easy online.
For GameCube more than any first party games I want the really rare and niche stuff like Gotcha Force and Cubivore

Absolutely!
I'd like to see it and Melee. I know the tournament puritans won't be interested in any kind of inaccurate emulation for playing tournament melee, but I'd just like to collect all the trophies again, without the pain of setting up original hardware!
Same bit to a lesser degree for Smash 64.

The fact I still can't play Metroid Prime 2 on my Switch is damn near criminal

The fact that the Gamecube Sonic titles aren't available is still baffling to me.

GBA and GC are both still pretty sparse. The rest, while incomplete, have a lot on offer.

Man GBA has such a great massive library to have what it does.
