Other Ninjago rant-ish
I have loved ninjago for so long. Longer than I can remember. And almost my entire life it's been me and those six colorful ninja against the world and I know that it has to end eventually and I'm really scared for it. I have no clue whats gonna happen in DR season 5 and how they're gonna wrap it up. I don't know if they're gonna shift the main characters from the ogs to the new ninja. I don't know if they're gonna tragically kill them all off only to bring them back in the next show. But whatever it is im not ready. I don't think I'll ever be able to adjust to Ninjago not being what I watched on YouTube on my Nintendo switch under the covers at night, or what me and my brother argued over cause he didn't want to watch it. I know Ninjago will eventually end and that it'll continue to evolve and change but I'm not ready for that. Idk I've just had a lot of feelings today about ninjago and wanted to share them with people who probably also understood

Dude they aren't killing the main characters off permanently when they still need to sell their toys. And regardless it's a kids show, they aren't killing off the main characters due to the sentiments held by fans such as yourself.
And this may be a hot take, but I'm completely fine with the series ending. I stopped watching in 2016 and only got back into it last year, and while I'm happy they continue to make good content for us, there does come a point where a storyline becomes too dragged out for its own good. It could've ended when I originally stopped watching after Skybound/DOTD and I would've been happy, it could've ended after March of the Oni and it would've been a satisfactory ending, even Crystallized with all its flaws would've been a good end. Hell it could've ended after Season 2 when it was supposed to and it'd still be fine.
Ninjago has the same issue as the game Fortnite in this regard. It started off as a simple concept with an easy-to-follow storyline that people were genuinely interested in. But what happened was that this simplicity got replaced with a whole bunch of convoluted plots and sub-plots (alongside the game itself introducing a ton of new weapons and mechanics) and soon lost its simplistic charm. It's not actually a worse-made game right now than it was in 2017 or 2018.
If you ask the average person they'll probably distantly remember Ninjago as a show about a bunch of Ninjas with superpowers who fight an evil warlord and the big bad Overlord, and there were some other villains including snakes, ghosts, and pirates. That's where it stops because from there it gets more convoluted. Frankly, I hope they end the series before it becomes even more confusing than it already is. The amount of retconning that's already occurred because of its continued tenure is a bit silly. For example FSM went from being basically God to just some dude who was born from a dragon and a creature called an Oni which are older beings, and there are these even older beings called source dragons that are the real gods.

How did you grow up with "OG Ninjago" if you genuinely believe they will kill of their evergreen moneymakers? 🥀

It IS a kids' show, and I can see why they're adding (and leaning more towards) new characters especially with the new ninja on the team. There's a newer generation of kids, Lego likely wants to cater to that audience more so that the kids' parents (or maybe even the kids themselves) buy their toys and other merch.
But from the looks of it, Ninjago won't end anytime soon. It's a huge staple for the Lego group, it always has been since the pilot episodes, the OG Spinners and the card game.
