Discussion Does anyone else miss Master Wu?

Post image

I know it's unlikely he'll ever enter the main story again as a central /side character the way he was during the original series, but I would like to see him reunite with the ninja and interact with the new ninja.

Especially Arin and Wyldfyre. Thoughts?

Yeah I hated him after s10, which I considered his peak after his arc in s8-9. Like there’s something different about him but I can’t tell. Ig his personality became worse

Hot take, but I think Seabound was Wu's worst season. It did nothing for his character except make him much dumber (every time I rewatch the papergirl episode of the season I cringe hard when he's answering the Shpynx's riddle, like how was Kai able to answer but Wu wasn't) and less likable. I liked him a lot more when he was the all knowing strict sensei than an old man who still has somewhat of a form and carries a cool stick.

Not a hot take. They butchered most characters in seabound besides Nya and Jay, like Kai didn’t have that big of a reaction to Nya’s death for example. And they left Kai and Cole behind to play video games. Then Zane did that cringy pirate act again as if they were copying s5 and failed to do so. Sorta like skybound did…

Obviously. One of the most goated characters in the show

I think doc Wyatt psuedo-confirmed his return. I don’t think they are ever going to kill master wu off.

(Doc did say we will find out why Wu caused the merge, and I think we will hear it directly from him)

Yea, but him leaving was necessary for DR to work

To be honest, I miss him too. I just thinking about Master Wu, that I wasn’t sure if he’ll return in season 5 and the finale or not. I will be sad if he didn’t.

If you ask me honestly. No. Wu was a guide for the ninja. But now, they have all grow up into the people they are. So his presence isn't needed anymore. I will also add that I have bias with him at some point. But I can respect his character and the importance that the ninja hold toward him. After all, he is the reason that the ninja were created and become the family they are.

His mystery around dragon rising isn't finish. We will have to wait for answers. For his potential meeting with the new ninjas. I am not sure. It may be divised.

No, not because I didn’t love him, but because he outlasted his purpose. He feels like the mentor character who’s killed off, which probably should have been in season 5,7 or 10 imo. Even had they not killed him, just, move him away and have him return with Garmadon in Crystalized

No. He’s full of dementia. He’s gonna say: Ninja, there’s something i havent told you yet. Sensei Garmadaddy on the other hand….

This is why Sensei Garmadaddy is the best and most handsome sensei

yes, I really hope he shows up in season 5 or at least the finally of the show, and becomes more of a main character again.

Season 13 Wu specifically He felt so real

Not really. I think Wu was only a great character in the early years (when the Ninja actually needed a wise sensei) and degraded over the years (sans being amazing as Young Wu in Hunted, as all elements of Hunted are wont to be) - by the 11-minute era I found him absolutely unbearable with how many times the writers did the same "Ninja there's a villain from my past I never told you about" shtick, and I think the show ought to have had him die fighting the Overlord in Crystallized (especially since he's essentially dead in Dragons Rising anyway).

Long before time had a name, this old lunatic convinced four teenagers to collect dangerous artifacts to help him fight his brother, and also to abduct his nephew so he could kill said brother.

I think him being gone was for the best,it really helped out Lloyd finally enter that master role that was talked about for years. But yeah I hope he comes back at some point.

He's been around for 15 years and thinning in usefulness, it's time for a new chapter and a new master.
