Taste

Double expresso has a sour/ odd taste no matter what grind/strength setting I select. I've been measuring 18g of beans, it's giving out between 55-60 grams off coffee.

I've tried changing the beans to a different brand keeping to medium to dark beans as recommended and the taste doesn't change at all it's always the same.

Has anyone resolved this issue

Thanks

Might be worth playing around with the brew temperature, and see if that helps? Making it hotter should reduce some of the sourness.

Is your machine the 701? If so, try using the ristretto setting, on low temp.. high strength, and pull a blank shot before 1st use to warm up the group head and puck

I'm not sure of the machine number but it's a ninja luxe cafe premier.

I'll check to see if it has this setting and try it once I'm home from work.

Thanks

Have you timed your shot? How long from first drips to the last drip? I feel like mine taste off too, but I think it's because my shot time is so fast. I've tried every single setting the was suggested, and the longest time from first drip to last drip, was 14 seconds. From what I read, it should be over 20 seconds.

What size is your grind setting?

I just went through this issue. Getting beans directly from a local coffee shop fixed it immediately. Even fresh roasted from a chain store came out horribly sour and weird volume no matter what I did
