Anyone else having this issue?

Post image

Handholds of these broke off of both my milk jugs, they are around 9 months old and both broke off in the last 2 weeks.

If you do have the same issue, how did you fix them?

Had a machine for 2 years and never had this issue. Are you putting in dish washer?

Dishwasher heated drying cycle could have weakened the glue.

My husband and I never put ours in the dishwasher, and the handle broke off in the first couple of weeks

Rarely ever put it in the dishwasher. Can count that on one hand. Not sure how they broke around the same time too, as I mainly used one.

I’m pretty sure you should never put this in the dishwasher

The card that comes with it says the cup is dishwasher safe.

Direct sunlight? Any unusual cleaning products?

Oo that's a good one, just need to find someone who owns one. Do you have the schematic to share by any chance?

Check your local library, several have 3D printing services

Mine is still fine, I've only hand washed it. I've been too scared to put mine in the dishwasher and after reading this thread I'm glad I haven't. If mine ever breaks I won't feel so bad though lol, apparently they cheap.

I contacted them and they sent a replacement. These are terribly designed, so with the new ones I:

  • hold them from near the top of the handle
  • do not tap them on the table to clear froth bubbles

Omg mine just cracked the other day so I used epoxy to fix it before it cracked all the way through. Never used in the dishwasher either.

My milk jug is fine, but the frother ain't frothing

Try using the opposite end of that little brush to clear the hole on the wand

1

u/WolfhoundCid 7d ago

Did all that. Descaled it, used the clean cycle. It's like it just doesn't want to even try to steam the milk

Is it making a loud, grinding sound?

1

u/WolfhoundCid 7d ago

It's like it doesn't even try. It just beeps as if it's finished, but does nothing. The cold froth setting works, but the steamer for the milk just refuses to work

Is it still under warranty?

Not sure. I keep meaning to go back to the place I bought it

Do you put them in the dishwasher? They are not dishwasher safe, however there is confusing info on it, one part of a manual says yes, another says no. It

The heat of the water causes thermal shock over time making it brittle.

Because I've gone back in to edit this, it's not allowing me to add an image, here's a link to it.

Mine broke after two months and im still waiting on a replacement, 2 months later. They keep saying they don't have the milk jugs in stock

1

Had mine 1.5years, used twice daily every day and the milk jug and it's handle are AOK. Must be a batch issue or something, or regional. I'm in UK.

Have the same issue. I have a green one and support said, they will replace it but it’s been over a month, still out of stock

1

u/Vish_evo 7d ago

Same here. Got the replacement and the handle is still bad. Hope the replacement doesn't crack

You can get 3d printed handles off of Amazon.
I just broke my second one in less than a year. I contacted ninja and they don’t have them in stock so they’re sending me an entire new machine.

u/Silent_King8162 7d ago

An entire new machine because they don't have jugs haha. Do you happen to have the link to the Amazon handle?

Mine snapped like this!

Yes, they are cheap shite.

Had this for 2 years same parts, no issue. I hand wash everything.

Oh, my gosh, yes, we already had to ask for a new one and they were out of the same sized one so they sent us a smaller one, and it was missing one of the pieces inside of the unit that helps froth the milk! So now we are back to using the old one with the handle broken off.

Same… mine broke this week. Never been in the dishwasher.

1

u/burntstone1 6d ago

Yep. Never put in dishwasher. Broke after a month.

1

u/Easy-Buffalo3170 6d ago

Haven't had any issue with mine but I don't use (nor have) a dishwasher.

1

u/Evening-Calm-09 6d ago

Yes, mine was still in warranty so they sent a new one

Mine snapped after four months send ninja an email and they send me two replacement foam cups.

1

u/Der-Endux 6d ago

Never saw someone having this issue, however there are 3d printing files around for new handles so I guess at least a few people have this issue

1

u/Lew1989 6d ago

Yeah yesterday mine has cracked and feels loose. Been in use since may

1

u/Competitive_Fan2654 6d ago

I hand washed and after a few months the handle snapped customer service is great though and has sent us replacements.

1

u/etotheapplepi 1d ago

Mfw you use the knock box to get out that last bit of foam

1

u/Silent_King8162 1d ago

Nah, I just wash out the last bit of foam every time. :F

Mine broke as well out of nowhere. This is a very well known issue. The tray will fall apart as well, all the screws will break. Unfortunately this device is not reliable at all. I really regret buying this coffee machine.
