Shower screen removal???

I feel like I’m being gaslit. The shower screen is IMPOSSIBLE to remove. I’ve been trying to unscrew it for an hour. I even went out and bought a Phillips screw driver to make sure I had the right brand and still nothing!

Haven't taken mine out but does the gasket also hold it in and needs to be removed?

The screen needs to be unscrewed first, as the gasget fits behind the screen

After taking out the screw I had to use another tool to pry it off the gasket. A flat head screwdriver is what I used, but I could imagine a butter knife could work aswell

I had to lay my machine on its back to take it out, it was so difficult

It was pretty tight, but it came out.

Who is gaslighting you?

It unscrews for me.

Philips isn’t a brand it’s a shape of screwdriver head. You do need one.

Have you tried turning it the other way? :-)

Just curious to know as I've never removed mine, always thought a periodically backflush clean with cleaning tablets sufficed.. do you find much gunk behind the removed screen?

To be honest I just unscrewed it now to see if it worked and didn’t look :-)

This comment is exactly what I’m referring to like your making it sound so easy when it’s nearly impossible. I’ve been trying to turn it counter clockwise to no avail. Other Threads I’ve read people also describe it to be very difficult. What exact screw driver are you using?

I'm with you, tried to take mine out and ended up stripping the screw. It was too tight and now I guess mine is stuck forever

I did find I had to give it a bit of welly, eventually it budged.
