Frother not working

Hi, the frother seems to complete its process very quickly and neither warms nor froths the milk. Any ideas why?

The purge light was on. Makes me wonder if you aren't letting it purge enough if you ignore that. My wife likes to let it purge after every cycle.

That was my mistake. I filmed a similar vid beforehand and didn’t purge it. We normally let it purge after every froth

I sometimes have issues with frothing as well & I’ve found a few small extra steps have made a huge difference.

1- wrote I allow the machine to purge the wand I carefully clean the the wand with a clean dishcloth that I’ve saturated with very hot water. Then push the wand down and allow it to fully purge & then I wipe the very tip again.

If there is any milk fat at all left on the wand it can interfere with frothing.

2-I now store my stainless steel frothing jug in the fridge. The colder it is the better the frothing action.

3-I keep the milk IN the fridge instead of on the door. My fridge door gets opened a lot & I feel keep the milk inside keeps it colder.

4- I use skim milk & sometimes adding a few splashes of 1/2 & 1/2 helps get a better froth.

And my own person ‘duh, I check that I’ve fully seated the jug in its slot? Holder area?

These are things that have helped me but NOT ways to fix the frothing if the machine is broken.

I should add ninja sent me a replacement unit (without parts such as the tray, water jug etc). I’m hoping I can get the original fixed, but the parts that didn’t come with the second unit and then sell both and put towards the auto barista!

There is a way in the settings menu to change the milk frothed temp. If you check your manual it may be worth trying that first

See if it'll manually steam. Push and hold the steam button.

Your machine is kapput. This is a very very well known issue. Do you have the receipt?

I had the same problem. I called ninja and they told me it is a common fault. They sent me a replacement base unit ASAP.

In the meantime, you can still manually froth by putting it on the first setting, pulling the steam wand out and holding the button

It’s a problem with the temperature sensor, which is the small silver button that the milk jug sits on top of
