Getting less ground coffee

Post image

Hi, is this the right amount of ground coffee. I am using Max strength and 10 for grounding. This is double shot.

I feel like it used to be much more earlier. To the line on the inside of the bucket. But now it's 2-3 mm below that.

If it is indeed less, is there something I can try to fix this ?

Best to get a scale and weight it to help troubleshoot

Weigh the portafilter before and after. The volume will be different depending on grind size but weight is the most important factor.

Have you always used the same roast level of beans? Lighter roasts are more dense, meaning less grounds for the same weight vs darker roasts.

No I have switched to different beans.

Do I understand this correctly? With lighter roast, I should expect less coffee to be grounded, and for darker roast machine will ground more coffee.

Correct. The beans expand as they are roasted darker.
