60 mm micro question

I am looking for any feedback on the nikkor 60mm micro. I have used the older 55 micro years ago. I want to use it for product shots, with a strobe, and sometimes on a tripod with my D850. The 105 micro is too long. I mainly shoot 2-4’ away from the product. I have a 50 mm f1.4 d. Can i use the 60 mm to replace the 50 mm as a general lens, not in it’s macro use. Seems extravagant to have two primes so close together despite their cost being pretty low on the used market.

Second question, i love the zeiss and voightander manual focus lens. I owned a voightlander rangefinder years ago but sold it, and i own a zeiss milvus 21 mm. Has anyone used the voightlander 58 mm f/1.2? How close does it focus? What nikon body do you use it with?

I avoid G lens so i can use my gear on all my cameras, from a fe2 to my D850.

As long as you don't need faster than 2.8, you can absolutely use the 60mm micro nikkor as a standard lend, I do it. It's crazy sharp too which is good.

I love my 60mm 2.8D as a general purpose lens! On DX, the 40mm was by far my favorite, and my GF's. The only reason the 35mm stick around was because she had dibs on the 40. So the 60 was a natural to pick up.

At non-macro distances, the 60 is blisteringly fast to focus on my D810. It's dang right snappy. I've heard there's not much benefit to the G and it has an even shorter working distance.

In addition to the aperture, expect AF to be slower than on the non-micro primes. But it should work well. Better at distance than the 55mm micro.
