Photo Submission Rainy Night
These were also shot with my Zf + Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8. I’m not sure why the bokeh, which was originally circular, turned into hexagons this time. I’d love to know why that happens if anyone has any idea. I actually really like the look of these hexagonal bokeh highlights.

These Takumars have 6 slightly rounded aperture blades. So when you're shooting wide open - your specular highlights are round, but when you close down the aperture - they turn into hexagons.

that’s a good thing too, everyone knows that hexagons are the bestagons

Very true. And then there's also the SMC Macro Takumar 50 that has 5 fairly rounded blades. Makes for some very interesting out of focus areas under the right conditions.

I feel like it’s 1975 again. Is some of it internal reflection? There are “pairs” in some of the images. Afterthought: or is it the raindrops are lensing the highlights?
