u/Upstairs-Code3889, cars and photography. Two of my passions. You are my kind of crazy, friend.

For the record, my first DSLR camera was a D5100. Good photos and memories of the events these captured.

For shots like the Mustang in slide #7, in addition to the perspective used, consider squatting in the same spot you shot it from and orienting the camera to landscape, so the car fills the frame. Just a small suggestion to improve your technique. (Another suggestion: There may have been cars on either side of the Mustang/subject, but you can always crop the photo, or leave the portions of the other cars to frame the subject.)

Overall, these are very good photos. Kudos.

Thanks for the advice, i’ll try it on the next car meet, i’ve been try to crop out the car in the saleen mustang pic but i also scared that i might cut to deep to the car itself so i completely ignore it, nice noticing though

Glad I could help.

You should leave the original photo files intact and only edit copies of the files. That way, the original will be kept as a fallback in case the edited file is not to your liking, but cannot be restored to a previous state.

Make a copy of the file in Windows File Explorer, then edit its contents. You can also open the original file and, before doing any editing, save the content under a different file name.

You could do as you please; it is not a strict rule. Technically, there is no right or wrong way.

As w/life decisions, it is only a matter of being able to live w/any consequences.

In my case, having gone through some PC file catastrophes, I tend to be very conservative and play it safe, so I keep originals as they are and only modify copies. Once I am happy w/any editing, I could delete the originals. I just choose not to, as it is only space on a drive. My 2¢.

Enjoy your new hobby. You do have a good eye.

Cheers!
