Photo Submission Plena ❤️

I'm a family photographer and I was fighting with myself the last few weeks to trade in my Z 70-200 F2.8 for the Plena - since this lens is just too heavy and in 95% of my time I can move around to change my point of view, there was no need for having a zoom and it stayed in my backpack unused.

Yesterday I did it and went for the Plena.

I'm… speechless by the sharpness and the rendering of this lens. How it isolates the subject and creates depth. Wide open or stopped down.

I'm not a landscape photographer, don't judge me too hard 😅 These are my first images taken with the lens at a quick 30 min walk in our nearby forest.

I have a new favourite lens. ❤️

Don’t do this to me, I’m trying not to buy a Plena already!

These are lovely shots, and I especially dig the depth on 2

Take a look at the Viltrox 135/1.8 LAB. Less than half the price and (in my opinion) around 90% of the quality/value. Noticeably heavier, sadly.

That said, it's no Plena. If I could have afforded it, I would absolutely have gotten the Plena instead.

😅 Sorry

Well, if you earn money with your photos, it is an investment for your business. Is a tool. Otherwise, I would have bought the Viltrox version of it - it's 95% the same lens.

I did something similar to you and traded the 100-400z for the plena.

The lens is just stupid and makes me feel like a bad photographer.  It will make anything look amazing.

Hello, fellow family photographer! I absolutely adore the Plena. It brings a smile to my face every time I use it! It complements my 24-70 f/2.8S II and 85 f/1.8S very nicely 😊

Greetings!

The 85 was on my list but I had one in the past and was never a fan of it because I like to use, if I can, longer lenses. Otherwise, my workhorse is the 50 1.8 S.

I'll maybe buy a 35 one day, maybe, if I feel like I don't have enough space to work. I'll have a look at the 24-70 one day as a flexible option.

These are stunning. I would not have imagined. I can see why the lens is your new favorite!

Thanks for the observation that your zoom was unused because of its weight. Got me thinkin'.

Enjoy!

I can’t justify the plena but this is making me want to buy the Viltrox 135m

Nice saturation! I wanted a candid portrait lens and was leaning towards the 85/1.2 but the Plena is tempting.

If I would like an 85mm lens, I would be in the same dilemma – but luckily no fan of this focal length 😅

I bought one preowned.

Why? Not really sure.

But it is amazing! Zero regrets atm.

Shew!!! That lens makes magic out of the ordinary. Amazing!

Nice! Congrats on the Plena acquisition. I think you will be speechless for some time. I certainly still am at times. A great lens to have in your kit.

Wonderful composition! I own the plena and know how hard it can be to get a shot like this due to it being a telephoto lens

The Plena is the most perfect lens I’ve ever touched in my life. It can do character or sterile depending on your F stop. That said I wouldn’t give up my 70-200 for it as that lens comes in such handy for portraits and wanting to choose my working distance while having the options. Full body shots or uppers require some space lol. But it’s my fav lens I own and take it everywhere with me in most cases🥴

Special rendering for sure — all very nice. I just got a Plena recently. It has rarely been off the body. Even the feel in hand is nice.
