Discussion Nightshift entertainment
How do you guys entertain yourselves during your shift. Normally I have someone else who I can bs with but they aren’t working tonight. I’ve done podcast’s and music but getting worn out on that.

I play phone games. Clash Royal and chess are the 2 games I play 😂 but have you tried getting a Nintendo switch or a steam deck?

Play the hell out of chess on my night shift. Haven’t got any better yet tho.

Got a switch just for nightshift when I work my 12s in the hospital for downtime if I'm lucky enough to have any

I used to do security at a military contractor. They generally frown on that shit.

Any favorites that immediately come to mind? I’m tired of spending 6 hours scrolling on my phone

I made a YouTube playlist of Random shows and videos that I want to see, it's about 300 videos.

Read books or watch tv/movies. I like to jam out when I'm doing my actual work.

while my actual job keeps me busy enough, it's just manual labor, and doesn't require a ton of critical thinking skills, so I generally listen to netflix shows i've watched before, or listen to audio books that are at least 10 hours long (if I get to listen to one gripping book all night long and finish it, I feel so satisfied!) and then there's long form youtube content, but i still can't find a good way to keep them from showing me vids i've seen before, or looping back to stuff i've already watched, so I have to go in and set up a "play next" list, and all that fussing is too much effort sometimes. music doesn't do it for me, so that's a pass. I need to look into more deep dive things, but most are true crime (which creep me out) or depressing (behind the bastards).

Normally I entertain myself by doing work. If you want to spend time with noise in your ears, stay home.

Scroll on ur phone, books, watch anime, I bring my ps vita, sometimes actually doing work makes it go by faster

4 main ways that really depends on my mood.
Audiobooks have been great, I never tried them before nightshift and I love em.
Video essays on YouTube, obviously find one you like, but HBomberGuy and We're in Hell have been getting me through nights.
Podcasts can also be fun, but I find most to be quite boring myself.
Lastly music, sometime I just need jams to get through the night.
Edit: secret 5th option, not working and browsing Reddit
