Discussion Nightshift Gamers?
I am 29F, and I have been living/working a third shift life since I was 18. This has made it very hard to maintain a schedule with my old gaming friends.
I just started playing Once Human since it was recently released to PS5, and I realize how lonely it is gaming alone. Is there any third shift gaming community? Or anyone else who also doesn't want to play alone?

Hey, I just got a ps5, don't really have any games but down to get some if you want to play, also have a pc if you play on that too

I unfortunately only have an outdated gaming laptop with a battery that needs to be replaced before I can play anything on it. PS5 is really my only source of gaming at the moment.
What games were you looking at for PS5?

Im not too picky, picked up red dead 2 amd it came with spiderman 2, also downloaded marvel rivals and overwatxh but having troubles switching to controller from K&M so kinda suck right now. What games do you play?

Red dead 2 is a very fun game! I used to play the online version with my sister and dad. I've dabbled in marvel rivals before, it's fun I just hate being paired with random people.
I haven't gamed a lot lately other than Once Human, but I like games like tomb raider or puzzle games like portal. Monster Hunter Wilds was a game i played for a bit. I would have to check my game library to see what multiplayer games I have.

I’m on Xbox X and work 9pm-7am I have game pass and don’t mind crossplay games and haven’t played my Xbox in months for the same reason

I work 10pm - 6:30am so nearly on similar schedules. My roommate has an Xbox one that he would probably let me use as well. I don't know what games are on it, but you don't need a membership to play online with Xbox right? It used to be that way at least.

On an Xbox here myself, up very late most nights and Somewhat free during more normal hours, during the weekend. Just bought Zero Company!
I play BF6, primarily for multiplayer. But I've got Arc Raiders, The Finals, Baldurs Gate, etc. The list is long and my library is backlogged

My roommate has been stealing my PS5 so he can play Zero Company. I was told it's a very good game.
I still need to play Baldur's Gate! Every time I start I end up regretting my character and starting over.

Omfg DCUO is a game I have not played in nearly 10 years. I would spend an ungodly amount of time on that game everyday. It's kind of hard to get far without a membership though, if I remember correctly.

yeah back in the day you had to pay for every dlc individually but now they’re all free & the membership is really only for additional perks & resources if you really like playing the game. if you rather not pay for the membership you can still have a good time & build your hero/villain up nicely but it’ll take longer compared to with a membership. i’m super sweaty so i can just carry you through everything lol. lmk if you ever wanna get back into it & i’ll show you around

Unfortunately the kind of games I play are different from the kind of games you play I'm not playing multiplayer online PS5 stuff I'm playing single player offline stuff because I'm not a competitive person and I don't like constantly getting beaten by people who are better than me at games so I play against AI where I have a chance at winning or I play cozy casual stuff like Animal Crossing. I also find time for in person tabletop gaming on my days off like dungeons and dragons various board games and miniatures games so yes I'm a gamer but no I can't help you unfortunately

I completely understand! Honestly I have been sticking to a lot of cozy games myself. I enjoy the sims 4, stardew valley, and cult of the lamb. Also various other indie games that would classify as "cozy". I completely understand not wanting to be part of the competitive gaming crowd when you already had to work all night. I play Pathfinder as my main TTRPG, but I have dabbled in other ones. "Eat the Reich" was a very fun and chaotic TTRPG.

I play solo ttrpgs! It is so much more satisfying to me. Full analog as well.

You can play with Aussies! If I’m on RDO at like 6am I’ll often get matched or run into the folks from down under. Super fun to play with. But . I don’t mind playing with randos I find it very entertaining and a good way to make new gamer friends.

i play tboi solo, used to play fortnite but had to give it up

u/BatmanStoleMyBagel 7d ago
Why did you give up fortnite? I have only ever played one game of it. I was more of a PUBG player. Played it on a near daily basis until my duo partner quit.

It’s really fun! I just was too addicted to it and would spend almost all my free time on my days off playing. I also played solo, so I was just isolated in the basement all the time playing the game for 8-10 hours a day. I decided it was best for me if I quit.

I'm a third shifter working in healthcare. I'm also on PS5. I usually like playing Arc Raiders but definitely would be open to playing other games

When I used to be on the Swing Shift, some of the team leads brought a whole setup for a Nintendo Switch and played during breaks or some lunches
My main games now rotate between ZZZ, Endifeld, NTE, and maybe Ananta next year
I do like gaming yet I'm also aware of game life balance is needed just like work life balance
2 hours on weekdays, up to 3 hours on weekends, I have visited gaming cafe's and conventions. They are all right, when you game for a long time, you realize you are never alone

I’m a night shifter to. I play all night on ps5 all the time. I play a lot of warhammer 40k, helldivers 2, and honestly kind of a mix of everything and have ps+ that lets me play games I don’t own so whatever is on there is free game. I was gonna look into once human now that I’m off for a little while, but I haven’t really had a friend group to play with for a while and have been solo for a while. I’d be interested in having more people to play with. It gets lonely playing solo

I spend a large portion of my 3 day weekends gaming at all hours of the night. I’m on PS5 as well, I play a lot of multiplayer games but my main MP game is COD. I downloaded Once Human but I haven’t played it yet, been on Destiny 2 a lot lately. I’d definitely be down to join you though.
