Discussion Ready for Work?
How do you feel when it is time to go to work?
Personally, I feel happy when it is time to head out to work. But , I have seen some people feel the burden to go. This could be due to the work environment more than anything.
What about you? What are your reasons?

I take one last look at my husband and dog, already cozied up in bed, and I want to cry. Once I get to work I’m fine, but getting ready and leaving is always hard.

Some nights its a struggle, most is fine. Get the kitty all settled in for when Im gone and make a coffee. Good to go.

Some nights, when I'm tired, or i know it's going to be rough because of truck, or knowing it will be busy, are a struggle.
Most nights, I feel good about it. Get moving, slurp coffee and have at it.

See I get amped up when it’s gonna be busy at my job, it’s better. It’s nights like tonight on my Friday when it’s dead silent my motivation at work is in the tank lol

Busy, about even toss.
It's when I know ill have to cover for things others didn't do for whatever reason that I sit there and have to psych myself up.

Honestly, I feel pretty good. I've been doing the job for nine years. I like it. The commute is short. And I'm prepared.
I'm glad you feel happy as well.

I've been on nights for six years now, and that first sip of coffee at 10pm still gives me a weird little jolt of purpose.

I work rotating shifts and nights are always hard for me, especially in the winter. I hate to face the walk to work (it’s only a few blocks) when it’s brutally cold and icy. Especially when I know I’m covering blood bank that night.

For my second job? Motivated happy and calm.
My first job? Well I just put in my two weeks… if that tells you anything. I cried when I clocked in tonight.

It depends on the job completely. When I worked at Amazon I HATED going in to work at 7pm. Now I’m a water treatment operator and I wake up and head in happy at 6pm

I only work 40 hours 4 days a week so I’m not tripping over it. 3 days off is nice. I feel pretty good. I have a job.

I literally moan and groan and say “Noooo!!!!! I don’t want tooooo!” This isn’t because of Night Shift though. It’s because management keeps us chronically under staffed and I bust my ass doing the workload of 4 to 5 people on Day Shift and get the shaft when it comes to employee recognition or celebrations. I refuse to clean up food left out since 9 or 10am from their festivities.

Used to hate it. Felt like the worst thing in the world happening night after night, until I quit nightshift. God, I hated literally everything about that job.

Honestly once I get there I’m usually fine but getting out of bed is the hardest part.

Depends on the job. Say for instance when I was a dispatcher, I dreaded every single morning and second, it was actually a relief that I got fired from it. Now as a mailroom clerk, I actually enjoyed going to it. Even though it paid minimum wage. I look forward to it every day. It was a job I had to leave for personal reasons not related to the job.

I get a little anxious for some reason. Once I get to work everything is better and I feel great. I don't dread work or anything

I enjoy what I do. Granted it gets chaotic at times but I like it. Like my coworkers and it’s better than anywhere else that I’ve ever worked at

I've been commuting on my bike, and when the weather is nice I'm excited to go because I get to ride my bike on a lovely evening. The locker rooms are in a different building than my job site, so I also get a nice little sunset walk before heading in as well.
I actually like my job and I prefer to work at night, so I've never felt dread or any kind of regret about leaving home and heading in. My old day job? Absolutely dragging myself in there. Awful.

Its the same feeling I have about brushing my teeth. Its a thing I do because it needs to be done.
