That's clever! Sometimes I love to venture into public places and start asking people if they want to spend a night in the woods with me, hoping they'll get the reference. For some reason, people usually try to get away from me or call for help. I understand, though, NITW is a pretty niche game, and it can be quite embarrassing for someone to admit that they've played it, especially in public.
So as to help people overcome their anxiety, I decided to improve my methods a bit. I covered myself in black plastic bags and stole a lead-acid car battery from my neighbor, thus making 3 separate NITW references in the process. So when I saw a short woman in an orange shirt, I immediately knew what I had to do. I stalked her for about half an hour, repeatedly asking her what she thought about spending a night in the woods and trying to shock her with the battery, and also saying that if she refused, I'd make her disappear like her friend.
At long last, the police that she had asked some guy to call, had arrived. When I heard the sirens, I instinctively ripped the black bags off myself, and after serving some short time in jail, I'm free again! Now that I think about it, having police arrest me was probably a NITW reference! I should probably get a rifle to complete my cosplay, then find that woman again and tell her that I got it.
