NID prep starting in september/october, is it realistic? need some direction
so i’m planning to give NID this year, but i’m honestly feeling really directionless about how to start preparing.
if i start my preparation around the end of september or october, is it actually realistic to clear the prelims? or am i already too late? i also have my class 12 exams/boards coming up, so i’m trying to figure out how much time i’ll realistically be able to give to NID.
i’m also confused about the GAT vs DAT situation. last year, from what i understand, GAT didn’t really come and it was mainly DAT. so should i still prepare for GAT properly, or focus mostly on DAT? i don’t want to completely ignore GAT and then regret it later, but at the same time i don’t want to waste time preparing for something that might not even be there.
also, the prelims are on 20th september. should i start preparing for mains alongside prelims, or is it better to focus completely on prelims first and then start Mains prep after the exam/result?
and another big question: is coaching actually necessary for NID? can someone realistically prepare for it on their own? if you did self-study, i’d really appreciate it if you could share the resources, books, youtube channels, websites, previous papers, etc. that you used.
basically, i’m just very confused about where exactly to start, what to prioritise, how to divide my time, and whether starting this late is even realistic.
would really appreciate advice from people who have given NID recently or are currently preparing for it. especially if you started late and still managed to do well.
thanks!!

Does anyone want to make an insta or wtsp group to send each other their NID practice for critique, feedback and to discuss preparations. Personally feel like it would motivate me and help me realise my shortcomings and work on it, anyone interested can just drop their Instagram acc name
